Small red ear from this weekend. Caught a mix of bluegill, green sunfish and red ears. Wife prolly caught 35-40. I tried to get the bass to play but they were not interested.

Lol. That looks like some species of shiner to me. Way too many to narrow down for me.I think @Nutterbuster calls all of them little fish Leotis. The one you caught really looks more like a Steve to me.
Man I just had one on the hook a little smaller than that yesterday. What a fight! It was a 1-fish night, but the one was worth it! 2nd best northern for me at 34". So excited I forgot to weigh it before releasing, but she was extra girthy. I'm guessing 10 lbs+. I know they get a lot bigger, but...for me, this rocks!
Best fight I've ever had with a pike as she made several drag stripping runs from the boat. Every time I got her back to the boat I couldn't believe how big she looked in the water.

Man, that sounds goodIt feels like a good day to leave work early, ride the fatbike into the hike in lake and catch some panfish. Hopefully the crappie want to play.
I'm going to hopefully catch a half dozen of those things little things later on tonight and chase some walleye in the AM before I get back to garage renovations.
Great story! Thanks for sharing it. Sorry you didn't get a pic, but glad you had a great fight. Nice job focusing in a tight moment and creating a second chance. That's great stuff!Man I just had one on the hook a little smaller than that yesterday. What a fight!
Fishing with my wife on our kayak's yesterday, and I casted near a downed tree. I could see my swimbait coming through some vegetation when all of a sudden a monster pike hit it. It didn't get hooked, and I immediately tried to cast in front of it and caused my baitcaster to get a nice birdnest going on. I sat there for a couple of minutes fixing that issue and then re-casted near where it had been. Almost immediately I could feel weight on the line, I set the hook and the fight was on. Took a while to get it to the kayak, and at first my wife didn't believe me that I had seen the fish let alone hooked it on the next cast. But once it surfaced near her, she saw it and laughed saying my net wasn't big enough! I had it next to my kayak and was trying to remove the hook before lifting it for a pic and when it thrashed around, bent the hook, and got free. It would have easily been a new personal record for me.
Man, that sounds good
