I think the semi-rigid pockets would be well received if detachable. Conceptually, they could be a step up in certain applications and they look nicely designed.
I also think I understand why they made them permanent, but it makes for a very specific use/style.
High Speed Low Drag is what they keep harping on.
This seems intended to support that model by eliminating a backpack. A just put this on, walk to the tree, and hunt mentality.
It might work out for 2TC and ROS. If it supports as well as a battle belt, given the yoke suspender, perhaps it'd support a 1 stick setup well enough.
But it starts to take a step backwards when you add the predator pack and walks back further when you add sticks which is where the majority lies.
I guess you could shoulder sling some ONE sticks. And for those with good range of motion reach over the back to pull out a Predator. Idk, at that point one is probably better served by a backpack.
I don't think the price is so out of whack as folks make it out to be.
Much of what it is intended to do can be had in a battle belt and MTP style yoke. The LokDown just looks to do away with the belt. But, those belts have a functional advantage in weight transfer that I think this saddle system won't.
I bet they'd sell a lot of those structured pouches though, as an acessory.
