2024 Gear thread

So back on topic - this is my first year really following new gear releases and what not. Have we seen all that is what typically gets released so far this year, or do companies release other new items at other shows throughout the year?

BT
July. After America’s 248th birthday, I’d expect to see a lot of the more interesting products released. Just in time to be able to charge top dollar for everything right ahead of season.
I’d expect the classifieds to really blow up after September 1 lol. And the support thread.

New hype video from the panther platform guys.

“It is a REAL DEAL”.
I mean, it can be. But it’s not really.
But once again I feel we’re inventing solutions to poltergeist problems, that we’re subsequently inventing post-haste to fit the contrived solution better.
FWIW I can do all those foot positions on my mission platform AND my small predator.
But I guess I’ll beware the small platforms if he says so…

So Levi Morgan and Kifaru came up with a top access bag with no zippered external pockets (edit, there’s a small one on top it seems) and a bigger Sherman pocket for whitetail hunting? Sheesh.
Looks like a Tethrd FAS on TRT.
Y’all really hunt Whitetails with all that junk in the trunk? All that juice in the caboose? All that sack around the back?
Man if you saw my everyday pack you’d cry. It’s smaller than that tiny jawn on Levi’s.
And my all-day public land pack is only about 4 PB&J sandwiches larger.

Me? No I don’t want a frame or a really big pack I am good with 1800cuin

If it were me, I would more than likely set my pack down, and never find it again! Lol.

BT

I’ve lost a lot of stuff stalking critters. I now have a rule. Whatever my “pack” is, that’s where I set stuff down. I don’t leave a trail.

To make it more likely I find it, I have a blinky blue light I turn on when I leave it.

Haven’t lost anymore stuff.

Also I’ve shot a pile of deer with the jx3 on my back, with all manner of other crap back there. From 5 steps to rifle range.

I actually think ankle and foot fatigue is a legit issue, particularly when leaning with feet on a flat surface. Like sitting too long on a stand, you just have to change it up now and then. Switching to sitting is generally enough.

But I do lean with my feet on the crossbrace of my climbing platform very often. And I’ll elevate the front of my feet on the tree bracket of my OOAL Ridge Runner XL when leaning as well. Those make good use of existing features and benefit me as a user in the manner of reducing ankle stress.

So, maybe the Panther Climber add is a little sensationalist, but I‘m not against spotlighting those features in this platform. Like when he has his heels in the gaping hole in the middle of the platform while leaning. I had no idea why they put a privy like hole in a hunting platform, lol.

I’m frankly more concerned about platform fatigue with that large void in the metal lattice than I am about sensationalist advertising on foot fatigue.

They truthfully aren’t far from a decent product, but it’s got some all-stop issues for me.

Watch the passing a limb video. Gives an impression on how their band performs during the climb, mostly negative. The increased rigidity over LW belts has an upside, but dang is their band loud and snaggy (not to mention who knows how it’ll stand up to field use).

Fair points. I agree that ankle fatigue can be a problem, and angle of platform matters for your foot comfort. Small adjustments over time are possible with any platform or stand, I just don’t get why this foot fatigue issue is such a concern for them that it needs its own hype video. That’s a footnote feature at best.
I’ll admit I’ve only seen a couple of their videos, it was kinda not up my alley from the get-go. I’ll watch some more later today to see what you mean.
I wish the phone number didn’t completely cover the product, it might make his points more clear.

Footnote, lol.

The first video is like a telemarketing evangelist shilling a hunting product
