2024 Gear thread

Another look at Trophyline.

I know it would have been a slap in the face to recent Onyx buyers, and it would have come in heavier but I wish the new platform was the same overall design. I'd gladly carry another pound or more.

This the same flat, square edged but lighter Fix without the rounded corners I didn't like.

May have to try those sticks.

Sooo… how is this leveling supposed to work?

Ha. That’s the first thing I noticed when I picked it up. Apparently they just got that in a day or two before the show and part of the leveling component was not there. He said they would have another the next day, but it didn’t look like they did.
It’s supposed to fold flat as well, but the bolt was too far forward, so it didn’t. He said the production model would fold flat.

Notice the platform hole for the post pivot bolt is slotted not round. Prefer the LWCG design of round hole fixed pivot point and the adjuster providing the movement and angle for the post. New design likely limited by existing LWCG patent.

Gotta be something thrown together quick for the show.

I know that companies/mfr's do it to have something to reserve future market share but its lame. You have a big event coming up, one of the biggest for your FY 24' sales. Have ur shht ready, no half assed last minute crap. You don't see partially complete items with sneak peaks of LWCG items.

However, giving the benefit of doubt, there may be patent or other reasons why it's not complete in this case.

ARD Red Dot

Wonder whether these are 50 state legal? (for hunting)

So it’s more like a rough draft of an idea they have for a potential future platform then huh hahaha

I don’t see it under any prohibited methods in Iowa. Cursory glance makes me wonder for about every state though. I’d be reaching out to my DNR before I used one personally.

I hunted with a red dot sight on my bow here in Michigan for years, a very similar setup in fact. As long as its not projecting the dot to the target its legal here. The downside of it for me was low light visibility through the scope. From the tubular red dot I moved to an open style pistol red dot. The final straw on red dots for me was that they kept shorting out in the wet conditions I hunt in.

Lighted sights used to be prohibited in CT and RI for bowhunting years ago. Which, I would think red dot would fall under. Checked and now I see no stipulation in the regs for either state.

"So, we've taken the most comfortable saddle made right now, COPIED IT, and now this year stripped down of all the sewn on whizzbang pouches and everything. So, that it's even more like the original...." Cough, cough. "What did I just say?"...

That scummy feeling coming back the more I look at this...

there’s a patented powder wind check dispenser from Nilch’i we haven’t seen yet. But I don’t hunt the wind.

2:43 for Nilch'i
Another look at the QuivAR app
