I'm interested in understanding the logic that drives the design of tree standoffs and the limits that can be pushed with alternate materials, without being willing to purchase various sticks purely for said research!Only if you tell me why….lol
That’s unfortunate. Seems like it should have had a reinforcement inside the tube near the rivet. I’ll have to see if I can find a thin adhesive or potting compound to reinforce between tube and casting before next season(course then I worry about it cracking the cast steps in freeze/warming). I’ve always been curious about this style step because even though I’ve never fallen on a stick, this style seems safer - both preventing falls(feet are captive) and not as sharp if it caught me in the groin/ribs/head. But if I have to worry about it coming apart and a sharp tube edge hitting me then that’s worse.
Think it could be settling into the slope of the hole that the bolt runs through? Ik it doesn’t look good on paper. At first I was like yea pass but honestly if it’s just the slope of the bolt it wouldn’t bother me. Thoughts?
Wow, a lot of standoff space.
See if you can tap it with a rubber mallet a few times. If it pops back down than it obviously moved. If it doesn’t budge it’s a paint miss.

And we are back to normal

Hint, glue a loop of webbing to top of your knee boots.I like the concept. With a 62” recurve I need a much smaller loop that attaches to my knee. Hmmmm….
I used to have something like this years ago made from neoprene and it was a great help. Problem eventually became the cams on modern bows were too big. I definitely think I will be picking one of these up.
I usually wear hikers. I sometimes stick the limb tip in my knee pad strap but it doesn’t always come out quietly. A separate loop girth hitched to the strap might be the ticket.Hint, glue a loop of webbing to top of your knee boots.
2lb just for the arm, sure hope I never get the bug to film my huntsBeast camera arm.
