2025 Getting/Staying In Shape Motivation Thread

90 min. 10 miles. 8:53 pace @ 157 HR. 725 foot of elevation and 1,100 calories burnt. Nothing crazy but thoroughly enjoying how easy it felt compared to a few months ago. Beautiful weather this morning didn’t hurt either. Rest the rest of today and tomorrow before one more run Saturday. Enjoy the rest of your week fellas!

Oh! Relevant to this group and forum, check out the Cocodona 250 (https://trackleaders.com/cocodona25f.php). Insane people and the leader won in 58 hours from West Virginia. 31,000 foot of elevation. 256.5 miles. Cam Hanes is in 21st currently in a decent group of people. Imagine he finishes early tomorrow morning. There’s a live feed you can watch too. Incredible views!

Been working late ever evening so had to get up at 2:40 am to start my run at 3::05 am
Zone 2 training- 6.30miles in 1:08:13 @ 10:49/mi with a 123bpm for average HR.
I would almost rather run puck drills than do Zone 2. Hopefully that will change over time.
Impressive commitment man. I got up at 4:30 this morning and that’s early enough haha. I feel ya on the zone 2. Give it a couple months and you’re gonna appreciate the results

Cam in 19th now and only 12 miles to go

Finished in 18th. I didn’t realize he also has a broken bone in his foot. Sometimes he rubs me the wrong way but his attitude certainly always gets things done. Beast

I was listening to a podcast were he was talking about his training for ultra marathons. He likes to build up to were he is running the length of the ultra marathon each week in training, which means in the final weeks of his training he is running more than a marathon every day.

Yeah, he’s a freak with his training. Especially for someone who has a regular job and doesn’t compete for a living. His son is also insane and holds the 24 hour pull up record and runs marathons in jeans in absurd times lol

The guy who won this 250 miler was putting in 160 miles a week in addition to other training. Probably 30-40 miles a day. I’d just like to get to 30-40 like weeks haha

I’m just trying to be consistent with 10,000 steps a day. :tearsofjoy:

You made me look it up…
“ The Guinness World Record for the most pull-ups in 24 hours is 10,001, achieved by Truett Hanes (USA). This record was set in 2025.“

For you guys that run longer distances, is there a certain distance that dictates you carry water or energy gels?
I assume that changes when conditions change, like heat and humidity.

No idea but there should be a rule, anything over a quarter mile requires a little debbie and a yoohoo. ;)

I'm not sure why but the truet hanes running in jeans level stuff runs me the wrong way, seems attention seeking. But he and his dad are better/more committed athletes than I am for sure, so I dunno I guess I shouldn't care lol

I just wasn’t feeling it this morning. It took me 30 minutes just to get warmed up. It rained all night and was misting and I was secretly wishing to see some lightning so I could have a good excuse to go back to bed. Well no lightning so I got started at 4am.
I ended up running 11.03 miles which is my longest distance ever. To top it off this is a very hilly place that I have not been able to run without stopping. Funny how things work out when you just do it.

11.03 miles in 1:38:25 @ 8:55/mi, with an Average HR of 149bpm.

Also first time ever going over 30 miles for the week @ 30.09 miles.

Thinking about trying to ruck at least once a week (in addition to other stuff), loaded up the Kifaru with a 50lb bag of rock salt, a couple of bottles of water, lithium battery pack to change out in one of
My cameras and it weighed out at 61.8 lbs. Did a 1.7 mile hike with it yesterday to see how I would hold up. Actually wasn’t too bad for my first serious ruck outing. After the ruck march/hike I shot my bow at 60yards.
