I think the herd is probably fairly balanced. We're in a rural area just outside town, but lots of houses on half-acre to three acre lots, and scattered patches of woods around. There's pretty much no hunting going on.Do u have an abundance of does in your area?

I figured out a long time ago that a scrape is a calling card for all the critters. I've had everything from bears to skunks visit mine. Even a house cat once. lol.View attachment 116338

Funny story and life lesson. I shot a small doe this past season in a ladder stand 60 yards behind a friends house. Rather than dragging everything around, I brought my bow and pack back to the car. While I was dressing her, this tank walked by at 12 yards not having a care in the world I was there(10/29/24). Then here he is in January taunting me.
Lesson learned, never put your bow away.
