8mm oplux prusik size?

Right. Dunno why someone would run a smear campaign on Oplux but it does have a whiff of trolling.

Anyone here actually get an email from Wesspur?
Teufelberger!

(the rope is on their site but unavailable/out of stock)

Was going to order a new tether from doublesteps but doesn’t look like they come with a prusik knot. I have an 8mm Sterling prusik on my current tether. Is a 8mm prusik the correct size for 8mm oplux?

Sterling recommends TRC for the hitch on Oplux. TRC is 6 mm.

With the 6mm TRC what's the general consensus for eye to eye length when tieing a distel?

TRC is not available (to my knowledge) with sewn eyes. So, tie one scaffold knot on your carabiner, tie the distel on the Oplux to your liking, tie the last scaffold...adjust everything and hang in it to set knots and see what it will look like....and then trim and dress ends. I would never do this process with a pre-determined length of TRC. It is cheap, so I would buy a little over twice what you think you will need and save the remainder for backup.

EDIT: Hang in it at ground level. I have a pull up bar that I use to set my knots in the house while I am adjusting things. Also, I like to make my tag ends long enough that no one could say "hey is that tag end a little short?"....so long as it doesn't get in the way of the hitch or something else. It seems like some folks are concerned with having "clean" looking gear (short tag ends), but I think that is the tail wagging the dog. The tags on my TRC scaffold knots are like 2".

Also this approach ensures you tie and rigorously check correct scaffold knots.

I agree with everything you just said. I found that once I set my TRC the first time and put my bodyweight on the knot, it held every time perfectly. I keep 2” tag ends as well. Actually, one is 2”, the other is probably 6” cause I was messing around with how compact I could get it and what length I needed to tie it to be able to break it easily. And I never cut off the excess cause it really doesn’t hurt anything. If I remember correctly, my eye to eye length ended up being like 23 1/2” for my Michoacán. And that was as compact as I could get it.
