But it’s also about trying to get a mixture of fat and protein. The human body needs both to survive. That’s why he was complaining cause moose is close to deer and all protein no fat.
 
Yep. Im not sure how anybody is going to get that in the Arctic. Hard enough for them to get it in Alaska when conditions are more favorable. But how in the world will the get to 100 days and still be alive.
 
I watched Season 6 after I listened to the JRE podcast with Jordon Jonas. Anyone else realize how much they left out of the show to make it look like he was having a harder time than he was?

Not sure what you mean by what they left out. Sounds like I need to watch the podcast. But I knew he was in pretty good shape when he shot that moose.

They made a huge deal about him loosing 30 pounds meanwhile he gained 25 before he left home by drinking olive oil. There were other little things like him needing fat and only catching one laker. Meanwhile she said on the podcast he caught 9.
 
One of my favorite shows as well. My wife and I have watched since season 2 or 3. We look forward to every season and are disappointed when they end.
I remember the lady that tapped that built one of the best shelters the show has ever seen. We were both rooting for her.
I am only on episode 4 of the new season but “rock house” is impressive and I also can appreciate the dove tail joints the one guy made with his A frame.
 
Last year on my elk hunt we came across a guy in our area that was on his 1st hunt ever. He said he was from NY. He was a recovering alcoholic. Said he spent every night in bar rooms. Needed a change and needed something different to occupy his time. Him and his wife watch alone and he always made comments that that he can’t believe that guy did this or that. Basically was talking trash with his wife. He said he had planned this 10 day elk hunt and he can’t go home early because he talked too much trash to his wife. He said it was his motivation. He made this trip alone. 1st camping trip, 1st hunt ever and he chose to bow hunt elk because the adventure interested him.
Let me tell you, he was ruffing it! Didn’t have the right gear. He didn’t even know what a mountain house meal was. We were camping 5 miles in. His boots have been wet for days. It was our last night. We had went into town one night because we swapped locations, so I had an extra mountain house meal. I gave it to him. My buddy gave him his flip flops so he could get out of his boots and try to dry them out while in camp. He said he never thought of bringing camp shoes. He said it sucked to get up in the middle of the night to pee and had to slip into wet boots. His wife probably thought he was dead because there was no service out there. I offered to text his wife on my InReach GPS just to check in but he didn’t want to or understood what I was talking about.
I don’t know if he survived! Lol. I’m sure he did but we have been making jokes about him all summer saying we are gonna find his remains up there still in my buddy’s flip flops. Lol
All this talk about Alone, made me think of that guy.
