I was afraid that was what you were going to say haha. It's a secret. Search for climbing on Amsteel.

If you're looking to rappel down, I would strongly suggest against this idea. There is some heat generated and I'm not sure how the Amsteel would handle it.

Yes. No rappel. I was thinking of down climbing with 2 toothed ascenders. It is called the Texas kick although I am using it in Pennsylvania. If you're looking to rappel down, I would strongly suggest against this idea. There is some heat generated and I'm not sure how the Amsteel would handle it.

Yes. I might buy Ultra Tek but Oplux is lighter. Ultra Tek is an aramid heat resistant fiber while Oplux is a non heat resistant UHMPE but I know you knew this, just restating it.Isn’t that why we have ultra tech. To protect against heat

My 37 foot length of Edelweiss Sella 8.5mm with 50 feet of attached paracord is a little over a pound (1 lb 6.9oz).Ultra tech is 4 lbs per 100 feet.
Over 7000 pound break strength.
Oplux is 2.8 pounds. And just over 5000 pounds av break strength.

Probably. When I do my long bridges, which end up at about 5ft long. I start with about 12ft of amsteel and probably 15-20ft of wire. I then double it up, feed it the whole way back to the brummel, then its just one pull all the way through.Do you think 2 feet of copper wire would work, done multiple times of course?
Here is what I am trying.
Yes. It is my favorite shirt for tree clmbing. Thanks, @Shane6491 .Nice shirt in them vids Bill

I know that my Madrock belay device generates heat on my 9mm Sterling HTP. I don't know if this enough to cause issues with Amsteel or not. I use Sterling Hollowblock for the autoblock. There is some heat generated there too but not enough for me to worry about on the HTP. I'm not certain if it would cause problems with Amsteel or not.Isn’t that why we have ultra tech. I already replied I was not going to rappel with Amsteel for the very reasons you mentioned. Maybe I didn't state it right.I know that my Madrock belay device generates heat on my 9mm Sterling HTP. I'm not certain the makers of Amsteel would approve of making a full bury and using it to rappel but I could be wrong. I'd just hate to see someone get hurt using something out of spec. Even some of the adjustable bridges with Amsteel (triad, Tethrd, etc) are probably out of spec. Are they safe? It appears they are. Could Amsteel be used to rappel on? Probably.

Innovations require failures.I already replied I was not going to rappel with Amsteel for the very reasons you mentioned. Maybe I didn't state it right.
Do the makers of Amsteel approve of Tethrd using a full bury on a bridge? I think not.
