No, its not. But it this would work, we don't really need very much of it at least.

$3.80 - $5 pr foot. The recommended bury should be less than half of a double figure 8 with standard rope, and look much cleaner. There is the eye splice of the standard rope like Flingin has been posting pictures of to minimize length needed of standard rope as well. As in any activity, weight savings cost money guys............

So just for kicks last night I put my duck on my 1/4" amsteel to get an idea of if it might work on the bigger stuff. I didn't hang off of it, but I was pulling on it hard and it didn't budge....

So who's gonna try the tether with the Ropeman first? lol i'd be pretty mad if I spent $40 on a rope and couldnt use it!

Sounds promising. The Duck will work on smaller rope correct?

Now double the 1/4" ropes and run that through the ropeman1 and let us know how it goes.

Yes, but its only rated down to 9mm. The 1/4" is 6.3mm.

lol, I don't think thats quite how it works kenn

If you stack the 1/4" top/bottom so the distance between the toothed paw and the carabiner is effectively 1/2", yes that is close enough for me.

I'm with Kenn...close enough.

The ropeman is designed for rope 10-13mm I believe.

Especially if its Red hanging off it the first time and not you or I.

lol. I'll try it with the ropeman when I get a chance. Anyways, what I was hinting at was that it seems to work fine with the 1/4" amsteel, so I have no doubt it will work with a higher diamter. And now that I'm thinking about it, the duck is rated to use with 10-15mm climbing slings. Climbing slings are super skinny compared to 1/4" amsteel so I'm not surprised it worked. I'm not advocating using this per se, but just talking this out.

Could always tie a stopper knot below the ascender just for testing to see if if slips. If I had some amsteel i'd try it for you guys. Just haven't decided what I need to buy just yet lol.

A better option would be to splice a loop in the bottom and hook the carabiner to your bridge for backup. They say knots don't hold well in amsteel.
