An Open Letter to the Saddlehunter.com Community

For the record, this will be my first year saddle hunting. Having just entered my 5th decade... I'm glad to be a newbie! Makes me feel young and energetic! Anyway, I watched a ton of G2 videos before shelling out the cash for a saddle. And then I bought a Kestrel not a Mantis. I kinda felt bad for not throwing some business toward the guy who made all those videos. But I'm so new to all this, I decided to get the same one my friend has. And he has a Kestrel. The shipment was delayed for my saddle because they had to evacuate due to the raging fires! So I prayed for the safety of the folks who made my saddle and I told them not to worry about me... Be safe! I'll get my saddle when I get it. I generally try to consider others as more important than myself. I'm really not good at it yet, but I want to be. Because life is about relationships. (... and venison!)
 
Great post I totally agree. New companies will have growing pains and I'm sure Greg and Ernie are doing whatever they can to get their products out. I ordered a lot of hunting equipment over the years and sometimes things happen. No company what's delays to happen but they do . I enjoy this site alot and the guys are great. I agree it's alot more fun talking about the changes we are doing with are equipment what climbing methods we use or the big buck we've seen and when the season opens. So let's all relax and enjoy the site .

Let me add my $.02 cents.

Tethrd exists because this community willed it to be so. That's it. It was literally born from this forum, designed by this forum, and patronized by this forum. It exists to preach the love for saddle hunting from the mountaintops, and because saddle hunters deserve a place to get the best gear without searching through Craigslist, ebay, and classifieds while still having to hack together some DIY crap that may have eventually gotten someone killed. If Tethrd ever turns into something other than the biggest saddle hunting cheerleader in the world, I see that as a failure.

So please show love for Tethrd, but show love for EVERY SINGLE VENDOR out there that supports this community!

For now, Let's get back to making fun of @huck72412, sending gratuitous croc shots to @DaveT1963, calling @redsquirrel by his real name (Pink Squirrel), laughing at @swampsnyper for being such a cajun hick, and blaming G2 for EVERYTHING - which in this case seems to be completely legit lolololololol

Now who's got some Knaiders and Swaiders to thread inject???

Welding a second set tonight! Also just created plans for an ultralight pyramid shelter that should hold four dudes plus gear and a stove fairly comfortably.
 
Well I'm going to make my comment before I read anybody else's. I started to try to type something the other day for about an hour they said pretty much the same thing you just said, but not near as eloquent. I think you are wise man and have made very wise statements here. I'm so glad I deleted my post and you posted yours. I hope people realize at this place should be fun. Not a place of rules, and bickering, and accusations, and assumptions. If I wanted that I just go over to Fakebook.

I fall into the new saddle hunter category. I am anxiously awaiting an email telling me my saddle has shipped, but I did my research before purchasing a very expensive (to me) product that at the time no one had even received. I was and still am very aware of the fact that it might not get to me when I would like it to. The backlog of posts by G2 and Ernie (and the other guys working so hard!) really fostered a strong belief in the product they developed. I feel confident they are doing their best to reach the goals they set. Hang-ups and production problems are an understandable hiccup. These guys have been very transparent and up front about it all, which I appreciate.
 
Great Post! Newbie here (well, I lurked last year) and this is one of the best communities I have seen. Such great information and such a passion from all the members. I can’t wait to be in a saddle this year!
