Any reviews of this saddle. The Cruzr saddle

For you guys who have a Cruzr, can anyone tell me if you had to sign for it? Trying to figure out if I need to be home to receive it. Thanks.

175lbs, 5’8”. Fluctuate between 31”-32” waist depending on the meal. I see that they are sold out of size 1 cruzer s models. Do y’all think a size 2 would be too big?

In my opinion, it would probably be fine and comfortable, but you could probably get away with a size one and not have an excess in material while still maintaining comfort. Maybe someone else has better experience and advice.

After reading until my head hurt and then reading some more. Think I’m set on a Cruzr. Fingers crossed I get on the list next go around!

I have exact same body size. I got XC size 2 because I will be layering up come late season and wanted to make sure I had plenty of room.

Fits fine with only jeans and Tshirt on. Belt and leg loops are not pulled all the way tight, about half of length. With adjustable bridge, I can pull it all the way and it will get "just before snug" to my waist.

Just got my Cruzr in yesterday. Noticed on one side of the adjustable bridge, it appears some of the AmSteel bury is coming out. Is this normal? Anything to be concerned with? 1A19A73C-5F8A-481E-88C1-422A44DD1065.jpeg0F861CDE-B9C6-41EB-96A3-ADD48532374C.jpeg

You should probably send those pictures and questions to Cruzr instead of posting here. I'm sure that if they feel something isn't right, they'll correct it quickly.

I did that as well! I’m not as versed in the AmSteel ropes and bury process, so I thought I’d as here as well.

The Prusik Loop is a Brummel Locked buried tail...this is fine. I have made many and this tends to happen not a problem. I prefer to use a closed loop (six wrap Prusik) one side of the long bridge length attached to the saddle loop. The other side I like the same but tie a 5/3 Blakes Hitch around the bridge with a stopper knot and a double fishermen slip noose back around to the saddle for a backup. You can tie this to the Linesman Loop or the bridge. I did a variation of this for years with HTP 8mm. Now with Amsteel I make spliced loops which saves on bulk. Honestly rope has worked well for many years and the only issue is it will wear at the apex where it rubs the beaner, but it is simple and cheap to change once a year.

I climb using SRT/RAD so I need more support under my legs. I sold my Mantis and ordered an XC for this feature. Evertime I stepped up after pulling on my hand ascender and sat down, it felt like I was going to fall out of the saddle. The leg straps where the only thing keeping me in and it was uncomfortable.

I modded my Cruzr XC a little.

-DIY Utilibridge
-Changed out the leg buckles with Tethrd G-Hooks. I find them way easier to adjust in the tree.
-Changed out the buckle for a raptor buckle.

Its absolutely perfect now. Dropped 3.5-4oz on the scale.

What all sewing did you have to have done to accomplish these mods?.. I’m especially interested in the raptor buckle. I’ve had several sits in the Cruzr buckle, but I’m like you... I feel safer in a raptor buckle. They seem harder, almost impossibly to inadvertently disconnect, compared to the buckle that came on my Cruzr. I was spun around practicing my weak side shots, and I just couldn’t shake the feeling of thinking about that waist buckle a bit. Can they be substituted without having to sew?

thanks

None of the mods I did required sewing.

Any new reviews comparing the XC to the S. I'm 5'10" 175 with a 32 waste mostly lean in my Trophyline Ambush Pro. Not sure if I should go with the XC or S? Is the pleat really all that necessary?

If you want to be comfortable yes. I felt the XC was definitely more comfortable than the S

Are you saying the pleat has always been open when you are using it? These saddles are identical when the XC is closed correct?

No didn’t say that at all.
