Anybody figured out a way to lighten a Doyle's gear hoist

I have mine in the center of my back on my Kestrel. It's very easy to find, very quiet, you don't even know it's there. I have a new Kestrel and they must have widened the molly loops because the Doyle's hoist fits in perfect.
How did you attach it? I think I may have to use a dremel and make the clip more narrow.

bought kestral this summer and doyles fit but then i cut the stiching on every other molly loop so that i have half as many but they are bigger and loose enough to use. they were so tight i couldnt hardly get nothing in them. doyles is definatley worth the weight.

[QUOTE="I did add mine to my pack, instead of my saddle. The weight is felt less there, and it doesn't impact function.[/QUOTE]

I took mine off my saddle and put it on my pack once to try it that way but put it back on the saddle. I think I’ll run it that way for a minute and see if I like it.

The Doyles is heavy but worth it for the convenience. I have a white paint stick mark on my rope at the 20'
length so I know how high I'am up. I also have a strapper retriever that is quite a bit lighter but requires you
to manually wind it it. It's kind of a pain when it's windy and the loose strap is blowing around getting tangled
in branches. I can always buckle down with my diet and loose 12oz of body weight to make up for the Doyles.

I just used black heavy duty zip ties to attach my Doyle's to my Kestrel. I will be moving it to my Flex before the season. Bought an Allen hoist to put on the Kestrel for my son. It not to bad of a hoist for the money.

Yep I leave it at home :)

Maybe for Dave not me I will carry mine

Use it to pull down my rapell rope pickup stuff dropped such as a stick when one sticking. Pull up my bow

Too useful I would rather leave heavy camera gear at home

Oh I don’t own camera gear

I took a molle connector 4" snap...took the clip off and put the molle connector on the doyles. Had to screw a starter hole and so far its good.
