Anyone ever tried wheel chocks for ros?

I wanna say back in the dark ages before there were 101 options for foot rests, I saw somebody start a thread on that. But nowadays there are just too many good options out there to jury-rig something together. No harm in trying I suppose though.
 
Just heavy. Could be ok for a long term preset with some durable attachment method.

Micarta as ameristep step alternative

Has anyone tried to make strap-on steps out of micarta? Would it be able to take the shearing force?

Definitely, its been discussed. I would think even sections of marine hose would perform better though. Marine hose was a pretty ingenious DIY platform material, but not without faults.
