Anyone not using a peep?

Just recently started no peep. I was curious for a while because I hated peep always twisting. Not kisser or nose as of now. I dont think I'll add 1 either. If anything I tie some dental floss or something for a reference point.

Hadn’t heard of the Anchor Sight ... very similar to the IQ sight in the way that it works. And both of those like the NoPeep from years past.

The IQ sight’s bubble is built in which means you are replacing your entire site is probably the biggest downside.

I touch the Bowmar to the right side of the end of my nose. That puts my eye beside the string, not thru it.
Yeah without a peep you’re line of sight will be slightly to the side of the string, which will require a slight adjustment to your sight housing to compensate - at least it did for me.

My kisser came flying off a week ago and rather then replace it I started shooting without it and love it. Now I'm thinking about getting rid of the peep sight. I really hate having to focus through the peep to get to the EZV sight and then finally look at what I am aiming at.

I have my first thumb release in the mail so that should help anchor to my face. I am thinking of putting some serving as a nose button and seeing what happens.

Anyone else run a similar setup or did I just watch to many Youtube videos again?
Well there was a time... I got so excited i forgot to us it... but it wasn't on purpose.... but to each there own...

Very true, it was actually more than I expected when I ditched the peep 2-3 years ago

Ditched the peep early this spring and have been using just the small bowmar nose button with my one pin slider and I am shooting better than ever, even out to 100 yards. No left/right issues at all. I’ll see how it works in Alaska next week

Anyone tried a hindsight? I have one but didn't like looking beside the string. I never tried with a string splitter

I pulled my peep out and you guys were bang on, it's much better without it. My groupings haven't been great but I'm still using a wrist release and my draw length is still to short for me to get my nose on the string.

Once I lengthen the draw length to fit me I might just print my self a version of that bowmar nose button.

Try covering your eye with the string at full draw to obstruct the pins on your sight and you'll probably be right on again. You can tie a piece of bright serving where your peep used to be and hold the bright serving next to your pin on your sight (similar to iron sights on a rifle) and it'll serve the same purpose. You'll probably need to adjust your sight just a little bit though.

I shoot a single pin adjustable sight (keep the sight in one place for hunting 0-30 yards) without a peep sight or kisser button. Only thing on my string is the d loop. Might be trying a nose button this year. I’ll see how I like it.

Just took my peep out, wow. I shoot just as good without it but it’s so much nicer.
I just shot through a chrono and since taking my peep and kisser out I've gained 10 fps now I'm shooting 270fps. Thanks to taking all that stuff off the string I can almost break the 65 ft-lbs of kinetic energy needed to take down a moose, while maintaining 270fps....Needless to say I'm excited

Cool thanks for running that test. I figured I was gaining some speed by taking mine off, but thought it would only be a couple FPS. What are your bow specs and arrow weight?

Draw length is 27 inches
Draw weight 62 lbs
Not sure about arrow weight i only got 1 I've been shooting for a while. Plan is to build some arrows once the bow is tuned to my likings. If I had to guess probably 350grain.

Bowmar has a video where they show how adding the nose button might add 5 fps. It didn't but what it did show was that by removing the kisser the bow increased 5 fps.

I haven’t used a peep for about 6 years, and don’t use any kisser buttons. Makes a huge difference in low light situations, with minimal loss of accuracy. I also use an HHA single pin adjustable sight which gives me a very clean sight picture.
Being an older guy. I'm having trouble seeing through a peep clearly and a magnifying peep is just more expensive and gotta turn right to see well out of it. I used to shoot without a peep before there was such a thing LOL aging myself......I may try without.

I couldn't shoot consistent for years! Had a lot of good shooters try to help me but after shooting for a while I would start throwing arrows to the left. I bought and anchor sight (which is a lot larger than the IQ sight) and discovered that after I warmed up I would start to stretch out some and would curl my wrist to the left, the anchor sight solved this problem, once it is set up it is right and any small change in your form is magnified, the first time I climbed a tree and drew the bow found out that I was stretching way out and the anchor sight saved the day.

I haven’t used a peep for about 30 years. Blew a chance at a big ‘un because of the darn thing.

I used to use a NoPeep made by Timberline but sold the bow it was on without realizing that Timberline quit making them. Thing of beauty, it was a black dot in a fluorescent bubble that checked your alignment to include wrist torque to a degree. You were “good” if that dot was centered in the bubble and you had a consistent anchoring point. The NoPeep was just above my pins and I could see it in my peripheral vision.

I now use an IQ sight which uses the same strategy. In fact they include a leveling bubble at the bottom of the sight. The Retina Lock” in this case is the dot-in-a-bubble.

Here’s the one I use, they have several models to suit your taste. I also use a kisser button, I suppose one of the nose thingies is analogous.

I use this same sight and love it. I anchor on the jaw just below my lip so no buttons or kissers.
