Anyone using a recon saddle?

Ordered a recon last Thursday and got the email it was being shipped today. Excellent service and mark seems like a nice guy. Used a h2 all last season and thought it was comfortable so we'll see how the recon is. Can't wait to try it out

Treehopper owner Mark Cama is excellent to deal with and goes out of his way to ensure customer satisfaction. If you’re not happy with it, you’ll find that it’s a “no hassle” exchange or return.

I went with the H2 for the price point and all it included and also after talking with a few people here that said they loved their H2. But 8 weeks lead time?????

Sorry about that brother.
I think the wait times on some of this stuff is ridiculous.
Mark delivers quickly and is great to work with before AND AFTER a sale.
Im messing with you my friend. All good. Maybe when I get mine I will be happy but I just dont see how it can take so long. Quality workmanship is what I keep telling myself. A recon may be in my future though just for a backup.

I have a Recon and H2. I highly recommend purchasing the Recon for a back up so you can use it as your primary saddle.

You would definitely need a SMALL Recon.
And I AM a fanboy so take this for what its worth.
I'm not sure why we have to keep trying to reinvent the wheel.
Slings (the Recon or Anderson) are about as perfect as it can get.
With the correct size, walking in them is NOT a problem. I've walked more miles in mine than I can count.
In-tree comfort is superior to any saddle that I've used, but I confess that I haven't tried them all.
For hauling loaded dump pouches, just use the lineman belt as suspenders. Sling the belt over your shoulders and adjust the length with the Ropeman or prusik, etc.

Wouldn't even have thought to use the tether as suspenders. Its been doing great scouting around and doing a few practice sits cinching it up tight with what I have in the dump pouches. If I carry something heavier and need the extra support the tether idea will work out great! I wish Mark would include a card or brochure to explain all the little "tricks". What comes naturally to some of you guys that have spent years in these things is a little foggy for someone with only a couple years in one.

The more I think about it now I may bite the bullet and go ahead and get a Recon.
After the Recon I couldn't go back to my Tactisaddle! I really liked it and hunted last year in it but the Recon is so confterbull siting or leaning just awesome sling! Just need to get rid of the rubber on the plates!

I started doing that when I got my Kestrel.
Another nice thing about using the linemans for suspenders is that it manages the rope better. Its already out with fast access to use when you get to the tree, its out of the way, and it isnt dragging thru poison ivy like a dangling, daisy chained rope.
