Anyone using a recon saddle?

Spent the morning working 1 stick and LWHC seat followed by rappel. Really getting to love this thing.

Thanks for the input on wax-soap, was wondering about what to.

I’m feeling the same way! I gotta get the wax out though.

And this is a serious question...is there anyone else out there that can deliver a saddle to your door in as little time, and in as little cost, that is made in the USA?
Tactisaddle can! And I have both and like them. Can't go wrong with both of these!!!

My personal little 10 second review is

Pros:
Great quality
Doesn't get anymore comfortable than this
Will probably last forever
Easiest bridge change out in history of saddles
Virtually eliminates the need for a backband
Easy to modify to your preference
Received it 3 days after I bought it

Cons:
Sucks to walk in (I fixed that. See recon sling revamp thread)
Doesn't look "tacticool"
Stock leg straps are kind of a joke

Overall I really like it. I'd probably prefer the recon sling over my yarak on longer sits.

When I flipped the way the webbing went through the plates it seemed crooked. I’m sure it’s me, I would love to see a close up video to make sure I’m doing it right.

I was wondering the same thing?

I made a video demonstrating how to twist the straps.
And, as usual, I'm having issues trying to publish it to YouTube...happens every time I do a video. Hopefully, it will be there sometime today.

Tom, that works good my only problem now is I still get the belt creek noise when moving at times. I guess I need to try the wax on the straps at the rubber plates!

So don’t take this a brand/fanboy/ignorant post- I’m newish to saddles and love them for being a hunting tool only

I have a phantom now and had a mantis prior- how does this compare?

I’m a 33” waist and feel the phantom is too large for me and only love the adj bridge for walking in- actually disliking it when tethered.

The comments above on sizing and walking in challenges scare me a bit but I love the ideal of the minimalist true tactical saddle- I’m not after the latest Barkolounger

Thank you.

I've had a Mantis and like the comfort and adjustments on the Recon better. If you carry anything in the dump pouches on the Recon, it has a tendency to sag below your butt when walking in (assuming you wear it in) without doing modifications. I've found pulling out from the body on the bridge while adjusting the waist belt and keeping the waist belt above the hips and tight mitigates this a little bit. At hunting height, the Recon needs a bit more adjusting to get the two panels just right whereas the Mantis and (I'm assuming) Phantom you just sit back into it.

You would definitely need a SMALL Recon.
And I AM a fanboy so take this for what its worth.
I'm not sure why we have to keep trying to reinvent the wheel.
Slings (the Recon or Anderson) are about as perfect as it can get.
With the correct size, walking in them is NOT a problem. I've walked more miles in mine than I can count.
In-tree comfort is superior to any saddle that I've used, but I confess that I haven't tried them all.
For hauling loaded dump pouches, just use the lineman belt as suspenders. Sling the belt over your shoulders and adjust the length with the Ropeman or prusik, etc.

Ordered a recon last Thursday and got the email it was being shipped today. Excellent service and mark seems like a nice guy. Used a h2 all last season and thought it was comfortable so we'll see how the recon is. Can't wait to try it out

The Recon is awesome I have 2 now the only problem is the noise from the rubber on the plates. I removed from both of my saddles and added a piece of stelth strips works great.Screenshot_20200815-201155_Chrome.jpgScreenshot_20200815-201242_Chrome.jpg
