He checked the gas system first and it is all in working order. He said he put my upper on multiple lowers while trying to figure it out also. You can always post it as-is on an auction sitr. Good call on the buffer spring and weight. Maybe someone nearby can put it on a different lower and see if anything changes.
I seem to recall a Bear Creek upper short-cycling. Turned out the gas block wasn't secured adequately and was walking towards the muzzle. Nudged it back into place and replaced the cup screws. This could explain the problem started and getting worse over time.
H2 buffers seem standard but other weights are available. I don't have one in front of me but isn't there a roll pin holding on the synthetic bumper? And tungsten weights? I might be remembering discussions about swapping out buffer weights on hi-power rifles. You can get different springs I believe, but the buffer weights make a big difference.
Can you weigh your buffer ?
H2 is the designation for a heavier carbine buffer.I have no idea what u guys are talking about
Check your head space I’d bet money it’s either that or the star chamber that’s the only things that can affect failure to feed (mostly) The fact he was messing with the gas tube for FTF I would say he doesn’t know jack. Bc even if it was under gassed it wouldn’t do what you’re saying in that manner. If that doesn’t work, send it to School of the American Rifle, he’s a literal guru with ARs and the tools he has for the special testing he does you can only get by going through his class. I’ve never known anyone with more actual knowledge of the AR than that guy. Also have you tried different ammo brand? And what kind of mags do you use? Not completely sure about 450 but it shouldn’t be toooo much different than 5.56 at base functions.and if the BCG is in question just get a FailZero or ToolCraft and call it day.I don't know anything about anything.....but the gunsmith I took it to has years and years of experience.....if he can't get it to work then I don't know what to tell ya.
The said he check the gas system, swapped all the components he had available in house to swap, etc etc, and he couldn't get it to function correctly..
After firing the first round after initial loading the 2nd round may load but that 3rd round is for sure hung up. The nose hangs up entering the chamber and the bolt slams and dents the bullet
