With the buckle across my chest and the waist strap, I feel it’s distributed well. I went with a suggestion from a member on here to put a cam buckle strap around the whole pack and it really made a difference bringing the weight forward. I have my saddle, two releases, flashlight, thermacell, rangefinder, ozonics, binos, hand saw, 3 screw in steps, bow hanger, and Badlands rain jacket in my pack. I ride back a few miles on some of the pieces I hunt on my beach cruiser no issue with the weight. I love the pistol holder too, my glock .40 fits nicely. The pockets on the waist strap could be a little more anterior, but I really like the pack. It is also hydration pouch ready. You can also use the bow and rifle boot too relieve some pressure from the bottom. This is my second year with the pack. I transitioned from Badlands Black Jack fanny pack when I was using a climber. I would just clip it to the stand. Saddle hunting has changed me as a hunter.
