I don't think I've ever officially shaved with a razor. Whenever the stubble gets outta hand it'll knock it back with the clippers. My strawberry beard has turned greyish rust.....having facial hair collects grinder dust and I can't stand rubbing ur face and silica granuals and little flecks of metal are falling outta ur hair
 
I shave every day usually. The weekend, a holiday, or if I am sick, are the exceptions. I've let it go for a few weeks before and my wife was about to divorce me, lol. I just feel better when I shave in the morning. It is part of my daily morning ritual, like 4 cups of coffee and a shower. I use a safety razor because those electric shavers won't touch my stubble. I once bought a straight razor and decided it would be cool to shave with it. By the time I was through it looked like I fought off a bobcat with my face.
 
Been rocking a 'stache since I could grow one in my teens......beard for many decades, but always kept it trimmed back pretty short. Due to the pandemic, figured I would try growing it out all of last year. During zoom calls, two of my team members' young daughters said "Are you meeting with Santa, Dad?". :tearsofjoy: Showed up at the company Xmas dinner rocking full beard baubles to much hilarity.

It was a fun experiment, but I prefer it trimmed back. Kept getting stuck in zippers and the like and sporting a longer beard was just a bit of a pain.

Trimmed it back after the holidays to get back to a more "professional" look.

Now that it's pretty much white, always have a twinge of concern going out during the deer gun hunt with a "white tail" on my face! :oops:

My kids have never seen me without a full beard and I've had some sort of facial hair since 8th grade :tearsofjoy: . My wife has forgotten that when we got married I didn't have a mustache. It varies in length depending on how I am feeling and oftentimes how superstitious I'm being during hunting season lol. The wife likes it shorter but I tend to let it grow if I'm on a cold streak. I may use that to my advantage and tell my wife that after I kill one I'll shave it down so it'd be beneficial to her if I hunt more lol. And, yes, it's definitely camouflage!

Usually rock the long stubble when I get lazy and it crosses into beard territory it itches and drives me nuts. Don't know how yinz guys do it.

After awhile you don't notice it. It took me some getting used to many moons ago but I'm the type that's always had stubble anyway too. 5 o'clock shadow or whatever.

same! My patchy beard is finally starting to fill in as I am getting close to 40, but I usually can't get past the itchy phase.
I feel self-conscious when I have a mustache--just feel crusty regardless of how good it grows in. Stubble for me
 
I'm amazed at how many of us are just too lazy to shave. I haven't shaved in decades like others and simply use hair clippers with no guard to shave. I've never had much of a beard but I am currently rocking an antimask goatee. They just dropped mask mandates at work this week so it might go away this weekend....

I couldn't even remotely grow a beard until at least 25. I was bad at keeping it shaved but didn't have enough to make stubble look good. Eventually I took a no-shave --november to heart and never looked back. It took several months but it did eventually fill in enough to look like a beard. I think you've got to recruit the man hairs and the only way to do that is to let the peach fuzz grow the whole way out. Sure, some guys can grow a full beard at 14 but for us mortals it can be more of a challenge. I've still got a patch or two and some callicks, the left side looks better than the right, but it's decent. If it gets too long I start looking more terroist than mountain man so I trim it to a #4 every time a I cut my hair and then just trim the mustache in between.
 
I feel best clean shave or a few days of stubble. I've let my beard go for a month or so and I that's when the wife complains or I give into the itchiness and shave. I'm also kind of counter culture and don't really want a beard because it's trendy and everyone has a beard these days. I've seen people with massive beards that probably can't change a flat tire. Doesn't make you more of a man. At least that's what I tell myself.
