Beast Sticks | Preorder for January

I tried every socket I had and had to grind one down a little to fit.
 
They make thin wall deep well sockets. I had to get one when I was disassembling my lone wolf.

January is finally here. I'm feeling like a kid a few days before Christmas. Can't wait to try these sticks.
 
I have a love/hate relationship with my beast sticks.

Cons:

1) I don’t care what anyone says to try to convince themselves otherwise. They do not pack well. Bulky and take up a good bit of space.
2) They don’t come with anything to hold them together. You have to come up with something on your own. Not hard but an annoyance at $425 for the set.
3) The stand offs are super sharp which will tear up clothes, packs and skin. Making them even harder to pack.
4) I have 5 out of the first batch and had 4 out of the latest batch. The first batch was far superior and stronger. Bent the crap out of the second batch on the first outing. Got replacements and sold them as soon as the replacements came in. They surely have not been TMA tested. They should be...
5) The bolts holding the brackets are too long and need to be ground down. The hardware is also crap. I replaced all mine with grade 8.( i here they come with grade 8 now)
6) I wish the step was further from the tree.

Pros:

1) they are the best thing out at the moment. I hope that changes in 2020...

where did you bend the crap out of them? The stick, stand off, step, a bolt?

Ugh. I haven't used mine yet but put a couple together. I also had to buy some grade 8 hardware (mine were the October 2019 release).

Where did yours bend?

I'm going to grind the bolts down but I can already see that even if the bolts didn't touch, where the stand-offs stack together I think could have been machined better to actually nestle together better.
 
tubing, step and bracket all bent on the first outing. Hunted my originals hard for 2 seasons. They didn’t bend like that.
 
On the FB page they're taking preorders/order for March of this year... looks like they're ironing out some of the production/delivery chokepoints. I'd love to hear any full reviews from those who've put them through their paces... or at least tested them out beyond just hanging them and making a few runs up and down. They look super light, well made, and well designed...
 
This is my 2nd season with them. As much of a game changer as they are, the 7/64" Amsteel Daisy takes them up a notch higher. ditch the buckles/straps and go amsteel daisy...

Maybe I'm not understanding your question? This thread is full of people who have done so! It doesn't get any more real.

Regarding packability, I pack mine with the the tree brackets facing each other. Makes a WORLD of difference and I carry them on a Badlands Dash daypack. I'm very happy with how they pack once I started stacking them the way I do now. Since you didn't specify how you're stacking them, thought it was worth a mention.

I apologize, I only came across the Beast Sticks on their forum, and was unaware that they had been available for a while now. I jumped in at the end of this thread. Late to the party!
 
I'm thinking to thread mine together like M.Doring did on YouTube.
Maybe I can make an elastic version of this idea.

This is good info as i should be receiving my Beast Sticks this month. When @Bigterp and I hosted a saddle meetup in maryland over the summer, he brought his Beast Sticks. I'm sure he could give some good feedback about strength etc...He's a big dude at 6'6 7 or 8 and 230 +lbs.

I’ve owned almost every production stick thus far & sold them all after a season w/ beast sticks. I got them mid season last year & haven’t looked back. I did hear about some q/c issues with 2nd run but that’s really the only negative I’ve heard other than price/availability.

It sounds like they're working hard to fix those issues. Production backlogs seem to be a common theme with saddle gear. Even with it being a relatively new style of hunting, it seems to be so popular that any company entering the market has to play catch up... especially when they've hit on a great design.

I'm sure it'll get better with time as companies learn by doing.
