Wow thats not good. Are these older beast sticks? I heard they had issues like this a while back. bought mine 2 years ago and have had no issues yet.

Glad you aren’t hurt worse! That could of ended very bad

Can you give us a description of what happened? I’m like several above. I love them. Zero issues ever. I also weigh 235ish plus gear going up and down so that’s why I’m curious.
Glad you’re okay.

Thats a crazy looking break looks like a bad extrusion.

Great I just bought mini beasts because I thought they would be safer than what I had already. Hope your ok.

Interesting first post from a brand new member. Glad you're ok. Any more info?

I posted in hopes to help other fellow saddle guys avoid potentially getting hurt the same way. I wasn't going to blast anyone publicly but the more I thought about it, the more I realized I probably won't be the last one to experience sticks failing regardless of brand. Long story short, always be prepared for catastrophe. That's all

I think that type of failure sucks…… can you give us a little replay on exactly how it broke & what was happening? Did you buy the sticks new? Did they come assembled? If new roughly when did you get them? Btw was just thinking if assembled they could’ve taken a blow during shipping. If not then just straight manufacturing fail

There's always a chance of dropping it from height on to a rock or something causing a crack that then broke too... Or at least I'm going to keep telling myself that when I climb on mine.

@TheWetSquirrel I appreciate the heads up, but can you give us more context please? The "long story short" isn't what we want, we want the long story!

Climbing down, I stepped off the bottom step of my highest stick to top step of next stick down with my left foot. As soon as I put weight on the step, it broke and I fell. My lineman caught me and my right foot was still on the bottom step of my top stick. My knee is pretty torn up from getting pulled up to my chin when the bottom fell out on left side. I regained my composure and climbed down and limped to my truck. Pretty boring story but I shared it in hopes to prevent it from happening to anyone else. I'm 6'0", 260 pounds. I pull my bow and bag up on a pull rope. I just bought the sticks straight from the beast last season, I assembled them myself. I've never dropped them, never thrown them. I've probably used them 10 times or so. Up until my accident, I loved using them. Never felt unsafe climbing them until now.

That sucks. Glad you are ok. You got a picture of the piece that broke off? That break looks really weird. It should have bent before breaking.
I haven't had anything break on my sticks but have bent a few things on the china made ones. The us made minis have been flawless. I know it doesn't help the knee but they will make it right.

Couldn't find it. I looked and looked thru the leaves. When it broke, I heard the tink sound of metal hitting metal so I assume the broken piece hit another stick on way down and bounced into the sea of leaves somewhere

Yeah not surprising you couldn't find it. Stuff seems to disappear when you want to find.
