Belt loops on the Phantom

I bought a used Phantom on line . It Looked to be in great condition. Anyway, On the loops are buttons for adjusting the tension. I was playing around with it, finding the right tension. It Definitely made a difference in comfort. Anyway, One of the beads popped out! After closer inspection the webbing is seperating. Those beads are really pushing one the webbing when under stress. Solutions?

i dont understand after all the field testing they had people doing last season, that the beads stayed in there for the final design. i bet it doesnt stick for their next release. it was kinda freaky when the bridge slipped down a bead while hanging.

so many other saddles are more comfortable without the need for this. Also, The webbing holding those beads in comes out of the box already starting to fray on the ends too. i dont know if they melt them now but in the first release im pretty sure they were all like that.

I honestly think that’s just a poor design... this isn’t the first I’ve heard of this. I’d be hitting Tethrd up.
I'm not really sure if they would do anything. I bought it used in the classified's on AT. Other than this, it's very comfortable. The other beads will most likely pop out over time. I was just curious if other had the same experience.. For me, it happened within 5 minutes of testing it out.

Just noticed one of mine popped out on my last sit, I just purchased the saddle this summer too. Good idea, but poor execution and I haven't reached out to Tethrd yet about it, but I'm sure they must have a ton of emails about this issue.

You wouldn't know it when it happens if you were hunting. I was showing the Phantom to my hunting partner while on my deck. We heard something bounce and saw it rolling away. A closer inspection of the saddle immediately followed.

I think they should double the tubing when they make it or find something with a tighter weave that way it won’t protrude

Yup I got this same issue. Not a happy camper over here. It seems that all their focus is on advertising and promotion rather then customer service and quality control. I don’t have the means to build my own saddle so I figured I’d save my money and give theirs a shot all because of the good **** they were promoting. Got my phantom and was tripping out at the kiddie stitch jobs! Man my pops always taught me first impressions matter and honestly I was not impressed at all with the quality of the product I was sent. Kinda felt like I got played but I figured I’d give it a shot. First climb up a tree with their tether and my rope core started coming out... bad.... to the point where I had to replace a $50 tether after the first sit. Then lil problems started popping up here and there with their products that I bought. Tried to give em the benefit of the doubt and run it this season but after that I’m done with tethrd. Can’t wait for my Merlin to replace this phantom of a problem!

I think G2 addresses this Issue in a YouTube video and how to fix it.

If a guy spends a couple hundred on a saddle he shouldn’t need to fix it.

It seems most of the saddles leave a little bit to be desired.

I bought a new H2 and hate the material it is made of it makes you sweat in warm weather and gets krinkly in the cold. They put a $5 buckle on it and I absolutely hated the triad bridge. Nearly impossible to adjust.

Was just playing with a buddies new recon saddle. They put molle webbing on it and if you hang anything on it the saddle is then pretty useless.

I also bought a phantom and sold it within the week. I couldn’t keep it where it belonged while walking and always felt like I was falling out it when one sticking and rappelling. My H2 and trophyline are both way more comfy and just better products. IMO

I use a Merlin and fall asleep in it all the time. I like my saddle haha

For what it’s worth, I made my comfort channels on my saddle with mil spec tubular webbing and lots of extra stitching and after 6 months or so mine did the same thing. So this is a design flaw more than a construction or materials issue. Still very annoying I know.
