Best Single Bevel Broadhead

Excuse the ignorance but what brand are you talking about?
I have multiple different brands....the 1s in my quiver are cutthroat, grizzly, and steel force...but those all don't live up to the criteria i mentioned. The cutthroats are the "best" I have.
I am gonna build some other arrows for next season and I going to buy tuffhead dangerous game

Lots of great heads.

Best value may go to Alien Archery.

I run Kudupoint and love them. Do yourself a favor in life: Get a cheap bench grinder, turn it around backwards, put a paper wheel on it, and coat it with some white rouge. Your pocketknife and broadheads will never be sharper. Its so easy its ridiculous.

Have a grinder, which paper wheel?

i use the 1" belt sander with the 30" leather strop on there. It takes me less than a minute to sharpen anything now. DeerMeatForDinner has a youtube episode with the same setup. Super easy and quick. Stropping is the part that takes people a long time by hand. A looooooong time. So glad i dont have to hand strop another blade. woof

Bishop really should run their advertising past a knowledgeable metallurgist.
My experience comes from 41 years as a tool maker.
S7 is S7, you specify S7 as your required material and regardless of where you purchase the material you get the same formulation.
The only difference would be "remelt" which is an S7 that is remelted to reduce impurities and help reduce polishing time (used mostly for molds)
It is a very good shock resistant steel, but it is designed as a through hardened steel, not case hardened.
The surface finish appears to be Cadmium plating, good for rust prevention and maybe a little lubricity.
Their website description of their material compared to others is "interesting".........

Also, their website is downright terrible. If they're going to have THAT premium of a product, they should at least have a clean and polished website. It doesn't need to be flashy(pun intended) or over the top, just not terribly formatted and hard to navigate.

Im not sure if their s7 is magical s7, but their heads are close to indestructible. I've watched every video I can find of them. Shot after shot into concrete and rocks and usually the heads have maybe a scratch

I don't know how Snap-On steel compares, but you can get 12 combination wrenches for similar amounts of money. Even if I were wealthy, that would be hard to justify. I'm just going to shoot the damn thing over them and lose it anyway.
There's best, and best for the money. If best is what you want look no further than bishop View attachment 51536View attachment 51537

I lost a cutthroat back when they were only like $20 apiece and I looked for that dang arrow for 3 hours til I finally found it. I can’t imagine shooting a $200 broadhead - those flashy gold Bishops better be 100% on pass-throughs!

I moved from Cutthroat to VPA SB this year. All the machining in the cutthroat head makes it fly noticeably louder and I got it in my head that all that drag would be even worse through soft tissue. Could be wrong and never had an issue with penetration on the Cutthroats, but I like the smooth surface of the VPAs without all the step offs. It also seems to me like a single piece machined broadhead would be stronger than a two piece head with a separate ferrule attached by a small pin, which eliminated about half the common heads on the market for me. I used to drool over the Bishop heads (have a buddy who shoots them with great success) until the VPAs came out.

That's exactly my problem. I'm no stranger to quality gear and I'll happily pay for it. I love the idea of the heads. Pay 800$ for 6 S7 steel broadheads and literally never have to worry about BHs again. The highest quality BH animal after animal for the rest of your life. But I'm absolutely certain I'd lose them all within 5 years, probably alot sooner. I can't bring myself to drop the coin.
