Better Hunting Through Chemistry

Yeah I was walking with a 40 pound pack and realized I was carrying almost twice that in fat last year. My legs hurt, always out of breath, feeling like crap. Totally opposite this year. I climb like a squirrel and I’m almost 66 years old. I’m never going there again!

That’s what I’m talking about right there! Great job, my man!

In my first post wasn't going to mention a high fat, moderate protein diet that stays aways from processed foods because I thought everyone would laugh. After seeing all of the awesome success stories from those on KETO I have to say I love seeing this. That is inspiring to read about.

I taught personal training for years, and the most successful (read: Healthy) people are ones who adopted a consistent plan. A plan beats no plan every time. "Eating healthy" isnt a plan, neither is buying processed products from the store that claim they will make you healthy. Keto, Paleo, Primal, and Cyclic ketogenic lifestyles are what I personally saw the most success with trainers' clients' and with myself and family. There are many ways to get healthy and have abundant energy through better food choices. Eliminating processed food is key.

I love bullet proof coffee variations. I cold brew my coffee and then add collagen powder and butter or heavy cream then blend it in my Vitamix. I can't get enough of it.

How'd we go from powering through hunts on 5-hours and cold medicine to diet and exercise? Next thing ya know ya'll are gonna tell me to throw away my C'mere Deer spray and start post-season scouting and prepping trees! ;)
Ha ha. Don’t forget we are on a site where guys get excited about a sewing machine they found at a thrift shop. Not because of antique collectors value but because it has cast iron gears.

Two bottles of the marts version of 'Ensure', a few handfuls of GORP (one big box of raisins/one big bag of M&M's/can of mixed nuts) in a Qt. Zip-Loc baggie, a couple Cliff bars and the ever present hydration bladder of water will keep me on stand all day, if everthing else cooperates.

I actually just bought a pack of ensure plus for the rut. I hate carrying a lot of stuff, and its been nice to just throw a bottle in the backpack and go. Quiet and not messy to drink, and one bottle will get me through all day if i eat breakfast and dinner at the house.
