Bibs or pants for the saddle?

I was considering getting a new set of Sitka bottoms and can't decide between pants or bibs (probably stratus). Previously in a tree stand it seemed like my bibs rode up more than pants and so my first season in the saddle I only used pants. Does anyone recommend either way?

Did a couple all day sits in bibs last year. I felt as comfortable in them as I did in pants the rest of the season and was awful thankful for their warmth the days I had them on. My thought is if your saddle fits you well you’ll be able to make adjustments and you’re also likely doing more leaning/standing than you were in your stand.

I prefer pants in the saddle and wear them for a good portion of the season, but as @jhunter13 said the bibs keep that cold wind out a lot better than pants do.

I'm in the same boat as these guys. Pants early season, and bibs in the late season when colder. But one thing I have come to love when saddle hunting with pants, go no belt and use suspenders instead. Found more comfort with not wearing a belt between my pants and saddle.

Oh I use a tree game camera strap as my belt with the plastic cam buckle! Works fine for me!

Pants. It drives me nuts Kuiu is the only option for cold weather pants with the Proximity pants. The Stratus pants are garbage with having no side zips.
Bibs probably are better for most, but I cannot wear any bibs or suspenders that put stress on my traps or shoulders. If there is it always leads to a monumental migraine

I’ve got Status bibs and pants, and I much prefer the bibs, especially when you’re layering underneath.

I agree with bigmike about the stratus pants not having zippers in the legs. I don’t know what Sitka was thinking there.

Bibs everytime for me but then its gets chilly early here in northern Michigan. I prefer bibs to keep the breeze off my back even to way back when I hunted from a tree stand. I wear them in under my saddle with just a thin shirt on even down below freezing. I pack my upper layers until I'm in the tree to stay cool on the walk in/climb.

I'm the same way except with stuff around my neck like a neck gaitor. I haven't worn bibs in a while but I don't remember them bothering me in that way.

You are in the same climate as me it looks like being in NW Georgia. Do you wear your bibs in? I typically wear my saddle in is another reason I had previously leaned toward pants.

Bibs when it's cold, eliminates drafts on my lower back and kidneys. Also sometimes my belt can get a bit uncomfortable. Early season I just wear pants as my bibs are pretty warm.
