Kinda have to ask since I love Nikon products.
Never had to deal with Customer Service yet though.

Had a near new acculan range finder that I lost the range finder cap...the numerous people I got on the phone had no idea about the product...claimed it was discontinued and they claim all range finders use one or the other caps they sell on the Internet ordered one they recommended and it was wrong they denied me to return it for the other one...bought the other one still doesn’t work

I guess I didn't say which ones I ended up with before. I have a pair of Bushnell Legend M. These have HD glass at a lower price point that the comparable brands, and I've tested the lifetime warranty a little - lost a lens cap out in the woods, they sent me 2 replacements, free, asap. Discontinued, but they're still honoring the warranty.

That is a shame. They need to train their Customer Support staff to be more knowledgeable about their products, or at least have better internal tools for reference.
I work in customer service and I think I will be skipping Nikon. Customer Service is very important to me when making purchasing decisions.
Off-topic plug, Trophyline has one of the best customer service teams I have ever dealt with.

I've been very pleased with my Pentax 10x42, and when I've occasionally looked through them next to optics costing double what they did, I've come away impressed. I think I had got them on some sort of closeout deal like 10 years ago and with that they were a tad over 200. Got them at a camera store, compared to the others they had, etc.

I had told Weldabeast about the hutact, I still have mine and are good quality and cheap price. I don’t like big binos in the treestand so I bought some diamondback 8x32, Great for the stand or if walking a lot, etc. , clear, good at low light even with only 32 objective. Got them for $98

Then I didn’t need any binos but basspro had Leupold marksman for half off, so for $100 I grabbed a set of those too in 10x42, they are good as well and also a lifetime warranty.

I’m not a big nerd on glass but besides general quality, the clarity is effected by the magnification, exit pupil, etc. So with smaller objective you want lower mag for low light clarity. Also high mag results in less stability. So research a bit of that and see what’s gonna suit you best for your usual uses
