Bow show off thread

I must brag a little about my wife for a second. Now i have had a Bear grizzly that was passed down to me from my uncle when i was a child and its been one of my favorite bows ive ever owned. Ive always wanted to buy a Bear Super Grizzly since before me and my wife got together and ive mentioned several times i’m looking for a new one but can never seem to find one around here. Well someomes been taking notes bc I get home today and she got me this beauty for Christmas. 5 years so far and this woman never ceases to amaze me. 914AD380-825A-49A9-A8CF-C0ACBCB4BE5B.jpeg81B12575-291E-46A4-8C79-3DD2F115A7CD.jpegE130B5C5-D4CD-418B-ADC8-4A434217B27B.jpeg

oh man, had to dig deep into the archives to find me, a compound bow and dead deer for this one... Circa 1983 Fl Everglades Region, I forget whether it was Rottenberger or Holy Lands WMA's, one or the other, its been a while. Some tough bowhunting for deer down there too, esp back then :\

Bow is either a Browning Nomad or Xcellerator, 65-70lb, 50% let off. Fancy schmanchy rig back then, lol. Switched back to recurves a year or two later and compounddoe.1024x768.jpgmostly shoot longbows past 20 years or so.

This bow and this deer is very special to me. A very close family friend passed away unexpectedly last year and this bow was his. I took this deer with it in early earn a buck season. Hoyt rx3, 65 lbs, 30 1/2,hha 4 pin slider, frankenstein together stabilizers, hamskea rest. I plan to kill deer with it every year no matter what other bow I'm shooting.

We were looking at the cool stuff in this thread tonight and he wanted to show his bow off, told him no problem. He’s just about got it all set up his way and is showing off to anyone and everyone. Had some family we don’t see often over, showed a vegan how well he can shoot and let her know he’ll be killing deer in no time. He’s got a bit too much of his old man in him, always upgrading something on it.

He got this diamond archery youth atomic last Christmas from Santa, I’d recommend it highly if anyone is looking for a new bow for their kid. Easy adjustments and things are standard in it, able to add the things he’s wanted to be “just like mine” as we go.
