That's sort of how I took it but hopefully he will not discontinue the aluminum and just change the polymer. At any rate, I should be OK with 2 sets of Pioneer steps.I think from his video he said they are no longer making the old steps.
I saw that and I hope he continues to make the Pioneer aluminum steps in the future. The ones I saw that were redesigned were both polymer.
No, from what I saw on the video they seem to be versions of the original shape.do they at least have the Pioneer style shape (hangs below the strap) vs the original polymer step which sat above the strap (and flipped over if you blew on them)?
Yeah, I hate to see the Pioneers off the market. I might give those new white ones a shot later on after some folks on here buy a set and give them a good going over, lol.
The pioneer steps are such a good price I got a few extras to make slotted pioneer steps. So far all ground test have held up great.
To be honest I was a little worried for you when I saw the picture. Cutting into things always worried me. But common sense is telling me that the part of the step that is press against the tree is where all the pressure is, that the slot would not cause any structural weakness because the weight is not bearing down from the top. Actually a really good idea. might copy. How wide is the slot?
I mean squirrel steps are slotted too.
i'm worried that the connecting back to itself makes the whole thing stronger and less likely to fail catastrophically
Sorry, can you explain that? I dont quite understand what you're staying.
