I carry a RAT 1 every day!Ontario knives.
Very well built. I don’t think any other US knife manufacturers can touch their prices. I’m really at a loss wondering how the company makes any money off their fixed blades, machetes, and the RAT folders.
I got some of the fleece lined ones, they’re great for upwards of 20F with no other layer under them. Really flexible and stretchy, excellent for climbing and so far holding up well. The wrangler flex hiking pants are great. I prefer them to my kuiu attacks and they are $21
A few years ago I started using my ice fishing jet sled. It works great! Better than dragging the deer across the ground, easy to load into my Tahoe and keeps all the mess inside the sled, just rinse out afterwards!I was thinking of a concrete pan for dragging a deer out. For a big buck, I might need two lashed together. One should reduce friction even with a big deer.
They are about $55. Hence my thoughts about the $13 pan.A few years ago I started using my ice fishing jet sled. It works great! Better than dragging the deer across the ground, easy to load into my Tahoe and keeps all the mess inside the sled, just rinse out afterwards!

I was thinking I should have driven around in the spring and looked in the trash for a broken plastic kid's sled.Right. I already had the sled

I just bought one this past spring. I have not needed it for actual deer dragging (2 deer were able to drive the pick up truck to load them) but I did use the sled in Iowa for doing presets. Some of our stands were 1 mile from the road and we had multiple stands, cameras, bolts, and other assorted tools to transport. We loaded up the sled and it sure made getting the gear to the stand site so much easier.A few years ago I started using my ice fishing jet sled. It works great! I always look at these at walmart, regular ones at least and they never have my size. Been checking various stores over the years. Never seen fleece lined ones at any of our stores and don't see it on the website. But I would love this. I may break down and order from the web. My current daily wear is prana zion, usually from govx or ebay to save a little money. But these wranglers sure seem similar and I love the idea of some fleece ones.I got some of the fleece lined ones, they’re great for upwards of 20F with no other layer under them. I've even broken an actual "sportsman's toboggan". The ones I replaced it with are holding up well. Also use them for ice fishing and hauling firewood. I'd go with a purpose-built think rather than a busted children's toy.I’ve broken my kids sled couple years ago...not very robust...And quite frustrating before it broke
X2 I tried a kid's sled. The deer barely fit and kept sliding out. It wasn't a wall-hanger by any stretch (maybe 160lbs on the hoof) but there was not a good way to tie it in. And since deer don't have opposable thumbs it couldn't hold on by itself.I’ve broken my kids sled couple years ago...not very robust...And quite frustrating before it broke
