Clandestine creek crossing system - who has ideas

I second the pole-vault method that @kyler1945 mentioned. I’ve done this a couple of times myself to get over some deep irrigation ditches in the river bottoms where I hunt. Definitely a learning curve lol

However, doing it with a lot of gear, especially a bow with sharp broad heads, would seem a bit dangerous.

Waders, 2 pool noodles and some paracord. Next problem.

There’s always the option for a paddle board, all the cool kids are doing it. You’d be the most hip deer hunter in the woods...

I brought mine when I moved back from Tampa.

It's made it in the truck 4 or 5 times for some bigger water crossings, but I've yet to deploy it.

I actually have a spot I want to wear hip boots and hunt ON it. There's a ditch with a little 14-16" tall birm on side. then it drops off several feet and there's a heavy trail below it. I can paddle in to the spot, then sit on it and draw behind the birm and stand up slow and shoot.

I like the zip line idea. Just make it level. Clip your bridge onto it with one of those carabiners with the pulley built in and pull yourself across.

7/64th amsteel has like 1800lb breaking strength and it's tiny, nobody would see it.

I’ve seen a functioning chainsaw work wonders in situations such as this. Just my 2 pennies:cool:

Waders and a pfd (life vest) would also work. Pretty easy to stash and you do't have to blow it up.

Ya, I like this option. The tube has a lot more flotation, but the pdf is more convenient.

I love all the ideas here guys.

In Canada, by law it is not legal to cut trees down on public land (without a permit). Yes it happens, and it could in this spot, but it isn't my first choice.

Is this public land where you can legally stash stuff? I'd get a cheap, used pond boat or something on Craigslist or the like. Or a grappling hook, coupled with waders and life vest. Maybe a sled to float your gear across too. Please be careful.

You are right, stashing gear out there would technically constitute littering - but I would pull it all out and end of season. I can live with the legality of that.

Waders + tube/pdf + gear float sled would work for sure.
