CLASSIFIED SCAMMERS

It appears that there a few new classified scammers making their way into our midst. Please be aware. The typical operating procedure appears to be contacting people with WTB ads posted claiming that their buddy "has one available". Typically the respondent is a very new member with very few or no posts and is posting for a friend whose email is supplied.

We will try to keep them cleaned up as we can but please exercise extreme caution when encountering instances such as described.
Hi,

I'm not super savvy on how to do things in the most efficient way on here. What is the best way to report a potential scammer? I posted a WTB ad in classifieds yesterday and have received a couple suspicious responses so far that fit the patterns described above, including one from that jamesyyjordan somethin-or-other

There should be a "report" button in the lower left hand of the message. Hit the report button and all Moderators can see it and deal with it accordingly.

Another one to watch out for.

Here is the message I received:
“I have one for sale, you can hit me up (619) 714-4047, muleye162@gmail.com. Thanks.”

I texted them and they sent the following images that clearly have photoshopped name/date stamps. See below.

Here is another one to watch out for. Apparently the beast stand offs are quite attractive to scammers. I couldn’t find the report button in private messages.

All, as pointed out by @Crcusmonky, please be very cautious dealing with @patrickstave851. We've had multiple suspicious reports.

**EDIT**

Well unfortunately after nearly 10 years of buying & selling things on forums… I’ve finally gotten scammed.

The member @sdonx apparently had their account hacked, and the scammer got me for a Predator XL & XL Pack.

Thanks to our wonderful Moderators who caught him before I even realized, unfortunately too late to save my money.
Now to “Sheena Walker” whomever you may be. I hope you read this and step on the largest, pointiest LEGO ever produced, then face plant into dog poop you BUM!

I do apologize to @Buc67 as I had read the wrong name. Buc sold me a Tethrd Menace and I had NO ISSUES with the transaction.
@sdonx ‘s account was the POS that scammed me out of the Tethrd Predator XL.
