Climbing stick step

What is everyone using to make their climbing stick step

Search under diy sticks, 1.3 lb sticks, lightweight sticks etc

There are several threads with tons of info including aluminum type & size. As well as different methods of cutting & shaping it.

Also in one thread someone has a friend that may be able to do a group CNC step deal at a very good price but he was still waiting on a time frame.

I’ll try to find some of the info when I have time later.

Yep, I'm still waiting! I think he's on vacation this week and then I'm gone for two weeks but I'm hopeful that we'll get pricing and pics soon!

Most are using 1" 6061 aluminum 1/16" or 1/8" thick wall for the main stick (I'm big so going 1/8"). I picked up XOP brackets but you could use Lone Wolf too. Using a custom versa button with 1/4" amsteel for securing to the tree. I really liked the design that @bowhunter15 came up with - he has a great video on it and that is what I'm basing the custom steps off of.

Awesome.

Thanks for providing these links.

I hope to order some steps.

I have 3 sets of heliums being delivered today to play with but want to build some diy lighter weight versions as well.

I have multiple areas with either tall pines or palms. To shoot I need need to be 40ft up to see down into the palmettos, sawgrass & gallberries.

Can use my climber but trying to get a quieter & lighter set up.
