Cruzr XC Buckle Question

What size buckle did you guys get for the Cruzr XC webbing ?

1.5". Be sure to measure your belt webbing though, there might be a chance it isn't 1.5" wide anymore.

Here's the glide I used with it, in case you are wondering.

It's the only one 1.5" slide I could find that had a working load rating and seemed pretty diesel. I'd rather have aluminum ones like what @DanO sells for making 1" webbing bridges, but I could not find that. If DanO starts carrying those, then I'd remove the steel ones and switch over to the aluminum ones.

PS. If I were to use a single adjust Cobra buckle, then I would "double back" the webbing through the triglide on the non-adjust side, similar to how to attach old school rock climbing harness belts.

No. The original is a single adjust buckle. The left side is held by a metal triglide and the right side is fed through the adjustment side of the buckle. You can easily remove all this and you then have two pieces of webbing with the ends sewn over as a finish. You could get the same exact style buckle and re-use the metal triglide to make it the same but with a Cobra buckle, or you could do what I outline in my post above.

Here's the buckle I used. The single adjust only has the moveable metal piece on one side.

Do you prefer this buckle and what size should I order for my Cruzr?

I bought my Cruzr awhile ago in fact it was about 3 week before they offered the saddle in grey . I definitely will measure it.

Yep. Measure your webbing belt, if it is 1.5", then buy that one. I like that buckle because you can center it more easily since it adjusts on both sides. Also, I like that the buckle itself is trying to grab the webbing and you aren't just relying upon a triglide. If you think that it holds well enough, then you wouldn't need these triglides (sliders) at all.

I didn't like that the webbing was so thin, so I backed it up with those sliders on both sides. It is slightly more of a pain to adjust though because you have to feed line through the triglide and the buckle. But it's a small annoyance and how often do you need to adjust your belt. Three times in a full day hunt, max? So, it adds 2 minutes to your day. It also adds a few ounces and is one more thing to make noise, but I'm a safety nut so I accept the tradeoff. In practice, it has caused me no issues.

Is the upgraded buckle option for the leg pieces only? And if so, what is the “standard” buckle? I am assuming the waist buckle is the COBRA style buckle (please correct me if incorrect).

Any insight is appreciated. Cruzr does not have a phone number on their website that I could find, and I did not get a response from the email I sent them through the “Contact Us” portion of the site.
Yes they do have a phone number on their website. It's at the bottom of the home page.

I got the upgraded buckle but it came with my custom version. My plan was to use a buckle like those on the Method. So, I ended up with both inadvertently. Here is a comparison for those who have interest. They are 1.5” as stated above.

The D-Ring version is noticeably thicker, otherwise it works just fine as an upgrade.
