Ripstop has 7/64 and 1/8. I hear a lot of people using 3/16. I have the lone wolf sticks and weigh 170... if that even matters lol.

Or am I good with 1/8? Also curious if the 3/16 is easier to handle when throwing around the tree?

Thanks in advance.

1/8 is perfect imo. Larger than that is way overkill. 7/64 is great to.

Are you going to install this on a platform so I can see how it works? I might beat you to the punch. I have never seen any of your projects go beyond 4 hours and done, until now. :D

Was thinking of using the squirrel step as the base to the LW pocket arm with modifications.

1) add versabutton to the middle of the squirrel step to hook the whoopie sling too.

2) add threaded spike of some sort to the lower left of the squirrel step to dig into the tree and to also provide more degree of adjustment like the pocket arm.

3) add nut & bolt to the strap section on the squirrel step where the 25mm carbon fiber tubes will be used for arms.

Thoughts or concerns?

Sorry, the sketch is rough lol

I dont see why that wouldn't work. My goal is to keep the step operational a a step. I think you will have to drill through the strap hole on this set up and that might weaken it for use as a step, but I think it will be a great camera arm base!
