The SH Membership has gone live. Only SH Members have access to post in the classifieds. All members can view the classifieds. I sometimes hunt in the Texas marshland, and without a thermacell you will suffocate, the mosquitoes are huge there, they can stand flat footed and hump a turkey. Impossible without a thermacell!!
I swear by thermacell. I think i repressed memories of what it was like before I had one. I can't remember a time I didn't bring it into the woods
I get headaches from a several kinds of bug repellents. Deet on my skin burns like fire. Other kinds are ok but don't work as well.
I'll take some ibuprofen and deal with the thermocell over dealing with vampire spawn tho.

I dont know the exact # but there are definitely at least 2 different species of skeeter here....there are the smaller annoying kind then there are the zebra skeeter that u can feel land on u....they bite through your clothes
My wife's inability to handle deet is the only reason I still have a thermacell. The stuff melts her like chocolate in a hot car.
When I was a kid going camping and other outdoor actives we had to wear long pants tucked into long socks, tucked in shirt, and skin so soft lotion...it smelled strong but if u just need something for around the house in the yard it was what my whole family used before they had thermacell and such....maybe an alternative for sensitive skin

I’m about to buy my first couple Thermacells. How often do you need to recharge/reload/refill them?
@MNpublic thanks for starting the thread. This is why I like SH. Good stuff. Ordered my kit, hanger, and spare cartridges / butane last night. Probably only use It the first 2 weeks of expanded here in Maine, but why not. Excited to try it.
