I have been considering picking up a dryad drey full size but my conundrum is as I love to one stick and rappel I wondered if any of you have tried it and how well it works when making your moves?

see @_Dario

I haven't tried it with the drey deployed, I'm not sure that would work. Even the wider sling leg straps leave quite a bit to he desired in the comfort department when your moving your stick but it's certainly doable

Another option I considered was buying a used one and attaching it to my beloved cruzr xc but keeping the harness so I could use it as a stock dryad as well.

I have used my drey with my h2 single panel. It's kinda awkward but gets you that support. I *may* eventually cut my hammock off the pouch, i think that *might* work better in conjunction with a traditional saddle. Seems like I had to have it upside down the way it's sewn into the pouch but I've only tried once or twice and I'm definitely not using it as suggested in that application

Near the end Spencer specifically talk about one sticking with the Drey at the 40 minute mark, it is possible but a little awkward from the look of the video. I think having the hammock sew on to the pouch+belt does help manage it. It would be really hard to manage the material without it I imagine. The newer design Hammock has molle loop that you attach to your belt to help with this too. I personally would not try it. (but I will soon as I'm going to test drive the Drey soon!)

JMHO. If you really want to. Get a minimalist saddle or a RCH and get the hammock or retro kit. Both would be comfortable ENOUGH for one sticking. I really believe that our community focus too much comfort on the 10 minutes max of climbing. If there is a saddle you think is comfortable 100% of the time while hunting. I would not give up any aspect of that for any increase in comfort while climbing. Don't let the 1% of time you spent climbing influence the 99% you are sitting in the saddle hunting.

I'll be on the lookout for your experience climbing with the drey deployed!

I one-stick climbed and 2TC climbed with no issues last year with the Drey. Once deployed, it acts/performs just like any other saddle. No issues at all.
