EDP is available

Just to be up front, let me stay I didn't even break out the stock strap. I just put a length of amsteel on it and timber hitched just like I currently do with the Predator.

For the 10 minutes I spent in it in the tree last night it was plenty roomy. I didn't really notice a difference in the "feel" with respect to size compared to the Predator. It did seem to lock on to the tree very solidly. Probably the only minor complaint I've had with the Predator is that it doesn't lock as solidly to the tree as well as some of its competitors IMO. I think the camming action provides a better seat to the tree because the V is quite a bit deeper on the EDP than the Predator so camming it provides more force against the tree.

Downside is the added thickness (the slight weight increase doesn't matter to me) makes it a little harder to get out of the pouch of my turkey vest with my outer layers in there too. I'll have to play with that a bit to see if I can overcome that. Lifes full of little trade offs. It will take a little more time for me to absolutely say I'm switching but this the best alternative I've tried yet. Overall I'm extremely impressed.

You should probably just toss it. It will never work. Just bring it with you on the 1st and I will dispose of it for you.

@MattMan81 I been watching your platform that's for sale but this one is looking pretty nice. Really wanted to get my hands on the seeker with the angled front but who knows if and when that will ever come out.

The seeker looks pretty sweet as well. I like the predator. But my wide feet want just a little more left to right sometimes. I also have a mission. It's sweet, But it's almost to much depth. This looks like a good balance between the two. Trying not to become that guy with 5 platforms, 6 saddles, and multiple climbing sticks. Gotta sell some stuff before I aquire something new. Lol.

Quickest delivery in saddle hunting history for me. I ordered the EDP yesterday and it arrived today. Doesn’t hurt that it shipped from the same state (PA).

As others mentioned, opening the last bit where the plastic is, is a little tight. I’m sure after a bunch of opening and closings the noise will resolve itself (when some of the plastic wears away).

I must say I like it. I’ll be taking it out Sunday. The EDP, and my mission, have more adjustability for setting up on a high side than my ridge runner and ridge runner xl. With the mission and EDP, I like that It has that “lone wolf” feeling to it.

My take on the EDP. Positives easy to set, locks in place and takes side pressure really well.
2 Negatives you need two gorillas to open and close the platform. Easily fixed by filing the parts that were rubbing. Finish is meh.
Required change in technique to rotate my body when my back is facing tree and i need to move bow from one side of tree to the other to take a shot. In order to move on the platform, i needed to use the "handle"as a step to cross my feet over. I find the mission and the predator XL easier to rotate on. To me this only matters in archery season. Gun season i don't have to move my body as much. For sitters: the extra room by the tree will be prized. I'm not a leaner, so cant speak to that. Fits on my pack fine. Will probably replace my Original predator in archery season. It wont replace my mission, but i don't use the mission when going mobile.

With the minis.

Has anyone tried to see if it will fit in a predator pack? Just curious

based on the dimensions alone I don't think it will fit, when you add in the "hump" I'm almost certain it won't. I'm hoping someone has a predator pack that can bring it to our Michigan meet-up this weekend so I can confirm with mine.

With that being said I'm thinking about having one custom made, there is a guy on the SH FB group named Cody Betke that I'm sure could make one, and from my understanding @always89y is pretty handy as well, just don't know what the cost would be.

Thank you, yeah I thought the same looking at the specs, but I didn't know if maybe it would squeeze in, but yeah we need somebody to come out with some packs to fit all these new options in platforms we have. It seems like the companies would go ahead and offer that with the platform, you know right off your gonna have to have a way to transport it. I would definitely pay for a minimalist style pack like the predator pack, made with some quieter material and a couple exterior pockets and molle if you want to add on stuff. They should go ahead and make some to custom fit all the platforms out now and the future ones getting ready to hit the market, like the seeker and edge platform.

I'm no magician but I think I could go buy a few different sweatshirts and materials from goodwill for under 10 bucks, make a pattern and try and sew something up.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about doing, I'm just saying if someone wanted to make some money doing it now would be the time with this platform revolution happening.

Has anyone found a way to deal with the plastic cap on the bottom of the post being too big and making it difficult to open and close? Just picked up a used one off here and it takes a lot of force to get it opened.
