Electric bikes

all it needs is a VIN# https://lunacycle.com/talaria-mx5-pro/ it has no derailleur, weakest point on an e-bike in any kind of grass or anything that will get in it, close 2nd is the chain. this will handle weight, and that of gear. stand on the pedals of a bike with just 20lbs and it gets unstable, and feels like it's gonna fall apart, and that's just on gravel. these e-cycles feel way better.

Scouting the George Washington National Forest got me in the research stage of building one. Seems like that’s my best option for getting exactly what I want. As I understand it, many of the hunting e-bikes are rebranded versions of already existing bikes. I think I can build one that weighs less, more power, for a lot less cash than the price tags on Rambo, Quietkat, Backou, etc..

Yes interested, so many to choose from, I was thinking like you say, many are really the same just rebranded, trying to sort that out

This bike has a good solid battery and the motors are capable of much more power later down the road. I'm running 3500 watts peak through them and its a little rocket. There is another model using the same motor/battery supplier that I'm really interested in though.

This bike is basically the same thing but 26in tires and has a housing to keep controllers in. This frame would be excellent for years to come and with modding.

If you do end up building or getting one of the extreme budget options on amazon and elsewhere, make sure you know what kind of cells are in the battery you get. Ideally you want to recognize the name of the battery component and not use a no-name cells. Good way to burn down your house with and unknown and unproven battery. Name brand US companies should all be fine if you go that route. A number of guys have built their own e-bikes on here. If you decide to go that route there are threads on this site about it

Any pictures of the lectric bikes loaded up?
I put a saddle in saddle bags and put bow in a sock and my 1 stick on the back carrier. I do have a camo cover that covers the bike. when I park it
I sometimes use a small case for a takedown that bungies over my 1 stick. It all works good in the right situation. Especially at my young age lol.

So THAAAAATTTTSSS why they call it a "saddle bag".... I always wondered

If I were buying a new ebike today, I’m buying a single speed Face Off. This guy gets what a hunter needs.

I definitely prefer my Biktrix XD but those Face off bikes seem infinitely better than Bakcous and quiet kats offerings

I picked up the new FaceOff Bowhunter ST this year. Ordered it in April and got it about three weeks ago. So far it’s a monster. I didn’t want to say anything until I had some real hunting season time with it. I got the single speed belt drive so no shifting and no derailer. This bike climbs anything so far and I live in pretty hilly terrain. But if you also want a tootling around street cruiser this may not be the model for you. I can only get about 13-16mph with this single speed but I didn’t buy it for that. So far it’s been awesome. They just partnered with LWCG and are offering the K9. They also have the Hunter series which is lower cost. What I like is the owner Dieter Kochan emails you directly and answers your questions which is awesome. I got this model for its ability to climb steep hills and because I feel like I’m getting a $5-6K bike for a grand or so less.

100% garbagio. Pachinko.
I'll take ur word for it ......but why is it junk? Is it the battery or the motors or what about it tells u it isn't worth nothing

Flat sand and limestone roads....I riding a peddle bike currently and it gets me there no problem

Either buy a used bike of unknown history/use/maintenance and hope it's ok or buy a cheapo like the 1 I linked..... I'm not sure which is the best option

Or just except the fact I'm not gonna be able to afford an ebike and keep on peddling

What you have to watch out for with these cheap ebikes are the batteries. A legit Panasonic or similar quality lithium battery cost way more than $500. The batteries they send with these cheap bikes are very cheaply made and potientally very dangerous. They have been known to suddenly burst into flames and burn houses down. Granted some never have an issue and they do great, but you get what you pay for most of the time.

I have an UBCO bike I use for whitetail hunting. I love it. It adds a whole new dimension to hunting, making the trip to and from the stand almost as much fun as the actual hunting. Too, it is silent, gasoline-odor-free, and fast. I hope to never drive another gas powered ATV at least for hunting.

That said, I cannot recommend the UBCO. It is advertised as a hunting/ranch utility bike, but the reliability of mine has been very poor (failed battery, both tubes, both motor controllers and it is only two years old). It is just not designed for extensive hill and off-road use. And mine is a 5th generation model!

I’m thinking of using an electric bike this season. There seems to be a million ebikes to choose from, Most have around a 20Ah battery, 80 mile range, 1000W motor, I know I want full suspension. I’m sure there some hunters here that have some experience with one or more brands/types of ebikes and I solicit your advice please. Of course the silent operation , quick entry and exit, and ability to haul gear or a deer are very appealing
I speak from experience that they are a great asset to the hunting arsenal especially as we get older. I have owed several and can tell you that they last about half the mileage they say under hunting conditions and even less if it’s hilly terrain. Be prepared for popped tires from thorns and other things. Make sure you check the regulations also, some areas do not allow 1000 watt. Most bikes are 500 watt. I’ve had a Quiet Kat, Tried a Rambo, and recently last year bought 2 Lectric’s less than the price of my Quiet Kat. Bonus is I have a bike for my wife or a buddy, but even better I have mine modified to hunt and I can take the extra battery from the other one as a back up! Best thing I did!!! Plus they came with all the racks and accessories if you catch them on sale!!

Lectric bike for three years. No issues at all
Mileage not an issue your only going a few on a hunt good value and quality.
Love the two big saddle bags. Keep all my deer cleaning and packing equipment in them locked and full covered to a tree a hundred yards from my hunt area for easy access once Deer down. I bone out 100%
Have never even had the battery out of my bike in three years. My spots are all well over a mile in the main road.
