Entire setup...5.25 lbs

Anyone have a video on how fast it is to drill with one of the hand drills like VT has?? I have an old treehopper hand drill and that thing doesn't work worth a darn IMO. I'm just curious if I'm missing out on a better hand drill etc?
I would say that the EZ Cut is worth the investment. They also have a bit that you can put in an electric drill that works well if you were interested in doing presets.

As a public land hunter, and not being able to use spurs or screw ins, I am very envious of these ultralite setups!
Me to brother, I do have some private land I hunt and using the bolts is awesome!

Found my grade 8’s in one of my old packs all rusted up. Spend an hr. on the wire wheel after soakin them in WD 40 for a couple hrs.

Okay, I need the info on these ASAP.
The strength you listed above wasn’t a sheer strength, which I think is a more applicable measurement of its weakness for us) any idea what that would be?
Also, how badly did they set you back?

Edit: in my excitement, I didn’t read the rest of the thread where you had already answered that question.

That's awesome! My plan is to run the lone wolf hand climber and bolts this year giving me 2 climbing methods and a comfy platform this year. If the tree isn't hand climber compatable I'll use bolts and hang the climber when I get up. THIS would be really sweet to switch my bolts out with!!!

Hey Mobigbucks I’ve got the tree hopper system too only using a cordless to drill and carry the hand drill to clean out holes from debris or frozen sap

Exactly what I've been doing over the years. I always wanted to use the hand drill on some mobile hunts, but that Treehopper version didn't work the best for me. Now with a cordless drill it's just awesome. It's still my go to for presets!

Thanks for posting that. The EZ Kut looks to be better than my Treehopper version and I may need to try it out.

The problem with the Treehopper is the drill section seems to pivot past 90 much more than the EZ KUT. The EZ KUT looks to stay on track much better from that video.

so ~ 1 1/3 pounds plus these have to be QUIET. No dipping, etc etc. Crap - this will be my first off season purchase.
That's the part I like the most: quieter than steel. No TINK. I plan on dipping the ends of mine in clear nail polish just to keep them from chipping, but that's it.

My wife was not pleased with @Vtbow and his genius. I would have been wiser to wait myself. But to me this is the pinnacle of lightweight, stealthy, and mobile.

Shear strength of a .240 rod equivalent material to what you have here is 6ksi. Shear strength of grade 8 .375 is 10ksi. .255 grade 8 is 4.4ksi.

In a nutshell, very comparable to a grade 8 bolt for these purposes. Only thing I can’t find is info a low temperatures, but I can’t imagine it changes.

If you’re happy standing on a grade 8 bolt, you’ll be happy with this.

wonder if we can do a bulk order and negotiate pricing for the group...... kind of like Kiwi's except the product actually exists :)
At $100 for 14, not really much sense in negotiating. 'Bout the same price as sticks, steps, or basic spurs, and you have the lightest, most portable system imaginable.

I'm still grinning like a 'possum every time I look at Vt's pics. Those things strapped to the side of my predator are gonna be so friggin' sweet!!

Super cool find on those bolts. If I used bolts for mobile setups, I'd be all over this. I use them more for presets. Way to go @Vtbow
