EZ V sight

I am of the opinion that turkeys shouldn’t be hunted with archery equipment, but that’s just me. Hunting turkeys with archery equipment that includes an EZV sight......well, Not just no, but hell no. The vitals on a turkey are small enough as it is so why add further uncertainty?

(I shoot an EZV, fwiw)

I will start by saying I’m not a turkey hunter but if you are already shooting turkey with bow and pin sight then you obviously can with EZV.

With that I would ignore the “vital V” part of this sight and use the hash/tick marks or whatever they are called for your known distance. Then center the head between them. I haven’t hunted with mine yet but on targets I no longer miss left or right.

So in theory aim for head and you should hit head or neck.

Does anyone know if there are such a thing as nocturnal practice nocks? I just ordered an EZV and it seems that my hunting arrows go about 281 FPS while my practice go about 288. It even sure if that’ll matter yet. Only difference being the nocturnals on my hunting arrows.

Has anyone added the luminescent tape to aid in low light conditions? If so is it worth it ? Seems like the neon green sight would be enough. Thoughts anyone?

I use Aaron’s luminescent glow tape and the Lumi-Ring (3D printed Glow Filament). They both work great during those “prime time” moments.

I’m really interested in trying one out but rarely, if ever, shoot 3D targets and I’m not trying to get another target in addition to the sight bc I just bought the new target. I’m assuming you almost need to shoot 3D targets to get a feel for the ranging and V. Anyone have any insight on that? I think w/o a 3D target I would be setting myself up for failure in the field..

Aside from these concerns I really like the concept and never like carrying a range finder bow hunting and constantly ranging my surroundings

IMO you are correct.... you'll want to get a 3d . You can just shoot at circles with it but that's not what it's designed for. 3d is all I shoot away .... no circle dots running around in the woods

Yeah, that’s what I figured. Thanks for confirming.

So ive gone and done the heavy arrow thing....650gr. total arrow weight out of a 57lb Darton pro 3000. with an HHA kingpin sight. Spent 5 or 6 hrs on the range and guess what. There is no tape slow enough to use, rendering the sight unusable. I ended up taking a blank tape and making my own extremely crude pen mark tape. It works to 40 yds but for a three hundred dollar sight...... So is the EZV gonna have a slow enough insert. I haven't been able to chrono the bow with these heavy arrah's. No point in gettin the EZV ifin that aint gonna work either.
Come on manufacturers theres a trend towards heavy array shooting again!!!!!

I agree with this. However, there's nothing saying you can't draw a belly, back, and leg on a piece of paper/cardboard and tack it to your block target.

I'm shooting a 607gr from a 53lb PRIME with the #14 insert and it's been good out to 40yds. Believe @Weldabeast is getting similar results.

Even if that doesn't work, Aaron sells a 220 and 220fps insert separately. I bought one of each because I thought I would need them. Turned out I didn't.

Yeah I was just thinking about that as well. I really like the idea of the sight and my new sevr block target would work well for what your suggesting. One side is made for posting targets and sighting in.

Boom. There you go. That thing is perfect. Also, the sight itself, if purchased from Aaron, will come with a deer outline paper for sighting in. Just photocopy it a few times and boom again!

Awesome, thanks brother! I’m assuming that comes with it if you buy from @DanO as well??

Thanks! I’d rather support someone from the site than order of amazon if possible. Guess I’ll be adding this to the list of stuff to buy...which never stops lol

The V is based off an 8" circle. If you have a circle that big on your target it will work with the inserts for range finding
