For God's sake….more than one “doe” is “does”……with a “s”

We're all fighting for something we're never gonna be able to keep. And in my experience nobody loves a good joke or a good rant session like somebody who's terminal. The dead have no problems with anything, but the living...

There’s a lot of wisdom and humor in that post

Doe, a deer, a female deer
Ray, a saddle hunter here
Me, a name I call myself
Far, a long, long way to hunt
Sew, a needle sewing gear
La, a female adjective
Tea, I drink from hunting thermos
That will bring us back to Doe, oh oh oh

LOL

Both are acceptable.

It can still be annoying.

But yes, bad grammar and spelling are rappellant…

Did you know the plural of fish is fish when referring to fish of the same species, but when referring to fish of different species together, the plural is fishes. For example, pool full of brook trout, “look at all those fish”. Poster that the PA fish and game puts out of all the different species of Pennsylvania fish, the header says Pennsylvania fishes. Which is how I learned this fun fact.

Ironically, PA is where this whole 27 “doe” thing comes from.

My wife hates it when I say " up in under" she is like how can it be up and also be under. Like my keys are up in under the kitchen table

Nucular was a word made up by an illiterate president. Ask him.

We’ll yeah, that’s how you say it. I saw 27,doe in that field over there when I was spotlighting last night.

Maybe back in 1998. "No deer left in PA. Certainly not 27 in one field. Game commission done killed 'em all off."

Edit:

other PA’ers need to chime in. In my area it’s usually Buck but I have heard Bucks. That ones not as particular.

In my area of PA, one buck, two buck, three buck or more. Example, I got three buck on my game camera.

Here in Missouri people refer to multiple gallons of a liquid as “gallon.” ie “ I bought ten gallon of gas.” Drives me freaking crazy.

“Per se” drives me absolutely !!!

I never correct misspellings, bad grammar or malapropisms in conversation or online. But one “per se” and it is all over but the shouting for me.

According to the old-timers who taught me how to hunt, "doe" is both singular and plural. I would never think to disrespect their memory by using the word "does".
