For those 2 panel-ers

I had trouble when I tried to add the 10% off it wanted to charge me a bunch for shipping. I ordered 2 so after $99 was free shipping.

Yea the shipping is steep

So I just got my floating D Sentry in and out of the box I’m impressed with the quality. I know this is a entry level arborist saddle but it really seems very well constructed.

I’m 6’2” 34-36” waist and I got the size 2. It fits well with plenty of waist belt left in both directions. I hooked it up to a tether very quickly before dinner and all my initial observations are positive. Leaning, I did not feel support from the kidney belt as another person stated. The bottom panel does feel plenty thick enough to be comfortable supporting me leaning by its lonesome. In the sitting position is really where I think this saddle shined on first impressions. Both sections felt weighted equally to my surprise.

The leg straps adjusted easily and didn’t feel cramped like some rock climbing harnesses have.

Whatever the weight actual is doesn’t feel like much on the hips at all. It honestly feels lighter than many other hunting saddle I’ve tried despite it appearing larger or heavier. I think I would be able to walk in with this.

I know there was talk of getting rid of the floating d but I just can’t see why. I think I was able to turn my hips in it better than any other bridge combo I’ve tried thus far. One negative is the bare D rings but not bother I’ll vet tape them up. No problem.

This is just a initial assessment and I plan to share my thoughts after a good 4-6 hour hunt. I will also try and correct any misconceptions I had from initial review to time in the woods. As it were I would definitely recommend picking one up before they sell out. You gotta remember this is typically a ~$190 saddle. You just can’t beat that. They are just making room for the next gen.

I’ll try to add some photos as well because I just can’t describe how professional this thing looks and feels. It feels very safe and secure too. Who woulda thought?

I got my floating D in today too and my observations are the same as @gcr0003 although I didn't hang with it yet I put it on and it is very easy to adjust and will certainly be able to wear into your setup area no problem. Both panels seemed really stiff at first when you open it up but I like that and it seems to form fit nicely around you. The stiffness of the panels lend themselves nicely to a quick on and off and everything is right there. Nothing is flopping and difficult to grab and try to position. This will be nice when your hands are cold. I think this is going to be a great saddle so far just trying to figure out how to hang my rappel line pouch and other accessories. I also ordered two of the notch oval biners as I am going to smaller diameter rescue tech 8mm rope for my LB/tether so switched to a kong duck for my mechanical prusic. I will keep you guys posted as well I'm hoping to hang in it some time this week or weekend. Our deer season is over but I might try calling some yotes from the saddle. These are my very initial observations.

Another thought I had before getting the harness is that since the bridge looks shorter, and there could be a chance of hip pinch, could a spreader be fabricated and placed between the bridge to alleviate that??? Maybe this isn't an issue...………...
You wont have any pinch with this thing unless you have super duper twerking style hips.

One idea for the double d is this: originally I bought the double d just to try something different but I had in mind how cluttered one tie off point becomes when I sometimes switch to DdRT at my tip.
After looking at it, I may sew a bridge across it, making one bridge but with both "d's" giving 2 floating bridge connections.

Should also be great when my new toy comes in for setting tree-to-tree traverse lines!!

Mine is on the brown truck getting closer to Pa :)
I am excited to say the least, my only other saddle(s) have been older Trophylines. I am thinking that since this a true arborist saddle it will feel a little safer up in the tree and I'm all about the padding!! Keep coming with the reviews guys and any "improvement" ideas...………...

Just saw you were from AL. What parts? I’m up in Cullman/Huntsville.

I'm in Tuscaloosa. I do come up to Oxford/Anniston from time to time chasing birds around the ole Choco-late mountain range!

How long are these taking to get to you guys and are you getting shipping info or anything? I ordered mine on December 22 and I've got nothing, no shipping info, no saddle. The place is just an hour down the road from me. Not complaining just figured would at least have some shipping info by now.

I got UPS shipping notification same day and the package arrive in 5 days. Lots of business are closed from 25-1st so that might be it too. Not sure.

I ordered mine on Saturday the 26th. UPS says it will be delivered today.

Have you seen @Nutterbuster split tether that he runs? Something like that might work well. It's demonstrated in this video:

I spent 4 hours in the floating d model this morning. Not to bad really. The downsides are it’s not packable at all because of how stiff it is. I wore it in and out about half mile each way and no issues without it falling down just little bulky. The floating d ring has to either be taped or removed. Way to much metal clanking around especially one sticking when there is any kind of slack in the tether. The d rings for the lineman’s loops I zip tied flat as I didn’t like the way they stick out. I one stick so no need for lineman’s loops. I just got a recon to try out too. If I like the recon, I’ll give someone a good deal on this one.

Are you a sitter or leaner? It seems to be that the upper band doesn't give a lot of support for leaners.

Mine just arrived. For weight, it was 2lb 8oz out of the box. I zip tied the side loops flat as others have done. If you dont plan to use a linemans belt, it looks like you can cut the loop part of the side rings off. I was also able to attach my molle dump pouches thru existing loops on each side. Due to the waist belt, it doesnt go anywhere and wasnt even noticeable while walking with it on. Coming from a saddle with no lower back support, i immediately noticed this had some back support. I did have a little hip pinch until i got my tether and the lower seat adjusted. After that it was very comfortable while leaning and sitting (with adjustment). I agree with others that the floating D ring is very noisy. Any metal it comes in contact with will be loud. I have a biner that i can replace it with and will be removing the floating D ring.

Here are a few pics of what i did.
