I once saw one in the crotch of a maple tree, about 7 feet off the ground.
Until it's shot. Then it becomes groundchuck. It's not a groundhog anymore... It's a treehog.
Nope, you win
Great picture!Had to go back in the archives for this one. I was fishing along the banks of Brunot Island a couple miles downstream of Pittsburgh. Which coincidentally just burnt down, well one of the power plants on the island did.

Never witnessed that before. Thanks for sharing! This past spring I watched a baby barred owl crawl from the ground up the side of a huge white pine back into its nest. I checked out you tube videos, I guess I'm not the first to see that happen. Always fun to see stuff like that in nature!I have a ground hog that’s been hanging around my house for a while. Yesterday I watched it climb a chain link fence, climb into a tree and start eating leaves. Who knew they could do that? I guess I’ve got to reevaluate my idea of how much wood can a woodchuck chuck now that I know they climb trees. I’ll try and link a video.
I’d like to try it. I mean they just eat grass right? Small beef cows.My son keeps saying it will make good sausage but I’m not convinced.
Ummm ,no. It has HOG right in the name as a clue. It's midget pork.Small beef cows.
I told him he couldn’t off the ground hogs, apparently my wife has become attached to the things. Now he does trap quite a few coons that may get cooked up.I’d like to try it. I mean they just eat grass right? Small beef cows.
They are a rodent so they will eat meat/fish if available. As well as any fruit/veggies in your gardenI’d like to try it. I mean they just eat grass right? Small beef cows.
That’s true. Bacon, even better.Ummm ,no. It has HOG right in the name as a clue. It's midget pork.
