Gumleaf boots

Half way thru my 1st year with Gumleaf and so far I'm very happy with them.
I wore them last week, low temp 24 degrees, high never got out of the mid 40s. One pair of Alpaca socks. My feet were warm and comfy during the 10 hour hang.

They are so much nicer to walk in than the insulated Lacrosse boots that I wore the day before. I had a long walk to the stand that 2nd day and I wasn't in the mood to wear the heavy, clunky Lacross boots but I was skeptical that my feet would be warm in the cold temps with the Gums. I was pleasantly surprised.

The one thing that I was concerned about with the Gums was the requirement to treat them with the Granger boot stuff. It gave me the creeps to think I'd spray chemicals on the boots that I depend on to not leave ground scent. But I bit the bullet and treated them as directed. Not only does my human nose not detect a chemical odor, the deer don't seem to notice it either. My ground odor busts are zero and quite a few deer have cut my trail and show no alarm.

One last point...The Granger stuff is almost mandatory when hunting from tiny saddle stands like a Predator. In their untreated state, the Gums squeak when the rub against each other, which is pretty much impossible to prevent when standing on a small platform. But the boot treatment completely eliminated the squeak.

You get more for your money with the lacrosse spray and I can't tell a difference from the grangers. Lacrosse accidentally sent me an extra bottle so I'm set for a long time Screenshot_20231107_151711_Gallery.jpg

I’ve had my royal zips for almost 4 years. They’re my main archery hunting, pheasant hunting, camera checking, and scouting boot. They’ve seen well over 200 miles. I put them away muddy and have never even cleaned em let alone treat them with something. I know I should, but I’m just not the best at taking care of things. They’ve kicked through a lot of briar patches and still no leaks. If I can ever wear these things out I’ll definitely be buying another pair.

I just wish they made a heavier model for sitting in freezing temps. I can only bear a couple hours in the stand in low 30s in the royal zips.
