They just start to sag after a while. So I figured this butcher block would work better. From past experiences with wood glue it seems to be stronger than wood itselfNice job. What happened to your old top? I can't see how you could destroy one by slamming fabric on it. Maybe if you were iron working on it. Your stand doesn't have any rust so rot was probably not a problem.
I’ve thought about using 2 inch steel pipe and the fittings to assemble. Gives it an antique industrial look. And would last foreverGreat job. Solid wood work.
I've got something similar planned but I'm gonna weld up a new base too. Mine is in my living room so I'd like it to look a little nicer than the bolt together bases for factory work.

I looked hard at the fabricator a few years ago. Seem like awesome machines. I’m just a juki fanboy now loli have a sailrite fabricator.work hores servo. coged belt and wheel .its pretty tuff good fun toy
