Hawk Helium or Beast Sticks

I have not seen the Beast sticks in person but reviews have said that the piece that goes against the tree is sharp and people have stated they have gotten cut or cut clothing.....remember I have not seen them only going by reviews I have seen on AT.

I love my hawks. The only mod I have done is versa and rope mode and it really made a nice difference. I love the folding step, personally it makes packing super nice. I might cut mine down and look at doing knaider and swaider climb if possible.

I just cant get past the price of the beast sticks.
yes they are sharp... I guess that means you can cut yourself or it means they kick out less frequently... What advantage or disadvantage do you want.
Some sticks are packed well in one situation another in another. I have heliums and beast sticks and homemade sticks... I guess I usually reach for the beast sticks this fall and the hybrid saddle about 50 percent of the time and the mantis 40% of the time and the kestrel 10%. That tells me what I like best. And bolts at home

I hear ya I was actually thinking about seeing if I could try to sharpen my hawks some how after I cut them down to get them to stick into the tree better. I personally have only had the kick out once on the multiple dozen of times I have used them but it only takes once.

Just figured it had not been mentioned and people wanting to make decision on something that expensive might want to know what others have stated.

Beast stick. 1.9 pounds with 8mm static rope and stealth strips
The stealth strips added 1 oz and the 8mm rope is 1 oz heavier than 6mm Amsteel

Does anyone know when they are going to get more sticks in? Can you preorder? I've been to the site and to FB, can't find any info on that.

I have 3 modded helium’s and 1 beast stick. The beast stick is lighter and grips the tree well but for the price I think the helium’s are awesome. I figured over time I’ll buy a couple more beast sticks but in no rush. They definitely sell out fast. They said “soon” for the sticks , I think about 700 are gonna be available. If you sign up for their mailing list you’ll get a heads up.

I am thinking of selling 2 of the sets of muddy sticks I have to buy one set of beast sticks. But want do that till I see there in stock.

My modded Hawk sticks are ok. I only had WE steps to compare it too and I like the sticks better. I've never tried the beast sticks. With that said, if you can afford and wait for the beast sticks, I would do that. The hardware comes loose on my hawks (came stock loose) and the worst times. The grip to the tree is subpar, could be because of the rope mod, could be user error. If I breathe on them wrong, the bottom kicks out. If you do get them, you gotta shorten them. They are cumbersome and ***** long. I use my linesmans correctly and learned how to maneuver up the tree to minimize risk. I'm looking at Beast for next season

For my application and how I like to pack in, the Helium sticks are ideal. The folding steps and my nesting method are as compact as sticks can possibly get as far as I know.

The Beast sticks looks amazing I just dont think I could pack them into my system as easily.

For comparison. Here is what the fixed style would look like on the pop up. Good as long as you dont need to duck or crawl under deadfall. Then you gotta watch out for the standoffs hitting.

Is that all your filming gear? That is pretty impressive if you can work that all into the 18. I need all the space in the 28 I can get without filming stuff. Mostly because I am fanatical about packing in clothes. I wear anything more than baselayers walking in, I am a sweaty mess.

Yea I have filming gear in there but little else. Camcorder in top pocket. Mic and base in main pocket. Arm on exterior. Batteries in front pocket. Extra clothes I would generally stuff in the load shelf. The only other items in the pack are usually things like cliffs bars, facemask, etc. Basic first aid kit with molle attachment strapped to bottom of pack in the two straps often used to hold a sleeping pad. I'd consider it a little small for a western day pack for crossover use because of the amount of water I'd want to carry. So I'm considering either swapping for a 28 or just getting a separate pack for western use. But the 18 seems to work alright for whitetail. I dont even really need to have the load lifter deployed to carry the sticks and platform but I figure if I'm already using the load shelf for bibs and jacket I might as well use it.

I bought another pack of Hawk Helium sticks to cut down but was wondering if the Beast Sticks may be a better option than modifying the Heliums. I can return the Heliums and put that money towards Beast sticks but I'm wondering if the Beast sticks are that much better for the money than the Heliums.
Hey Jason I was wondering if you would like to sell the set of Heliums that you bought?

250lbs here. Heliums with amsteel rope mods all the way no problem
