I also tell people to avoid Hawk. I didn't have a good experience when i bought their updated sticks last year. Broken parts and bad customer service. I'll support companies that will personally answer your emails and/or phone calls.

I have that one that goes on the Helium stick. it's well made and pretty cool but I still prefer a platform for comfort. If I was only going to be in the tree a few hours though. It can work. I converted my Hawk treestand into a platform and love it.

Not a big fan of hawk or GSM but the strap looks a little high to me. Almost like the tree bracket could push onto it. I will say that the Hawk research team has done well trying to keep up with trends. I just have no confidence in their quality control.

Well the hawk shipping department must be all on vacation hunting because they haven’t started the shipping on my stand yet. Ordered September 29th.

Hawk sucks. I ordered those 20” hawk sticks a few weeks ago. Quality sucks. Broken suction cup very first time I stuck them together. Horrible customer service. Got through ONE time after being on hold for 30+ minutes several times and was assured a call back about the broken part. Never received that call and have called back a couple more times with 30 minute waits and no answer. As I said in the thread about those sticks. These are the first and absolutely last Hawk product I will ever buy! And my fault for not buying American made. Just my 2cents.

Sounds like when I "pre-ordered" my sticks from them last year. They weren't in a hurry to get them shipped. In hindsight I should have just cancelled my ordered. I would save a few more pennies and get a Predator or Mission. If you're military or public service you can get a pretty nice discount from Tethrd and Trophyline.

It's clearly welded. I don't think you can't patent the general shape of something. It's an entirely different construction.

That said it's not on my radar but we all knew the day was coming when larger companies dove into this market.

I don't take sides in the company virtue stuff. It gets a little ridiculous on these forums. Business isn't all sunshine and rainbows and smashing that like button on someone's youtube videos doesn't make them my friend, it makes me jockstrap sniffer. I try to buy American but I only have a certain premium I'll go to for that.

Following, interested how this whole thing plays out. I know saddle hunting is "new" to the hunting world. Had a cabelas hunting catalog come in the mail yesterday and nothing saddle related in it....

I think the major chain stores stay away from saddles just because they are not recognized by TMA & don't have a TMA approved stamp on them. Actually the first saddle I ever bought was from Bass Pro Shops around 2004. I think that it actually was TMA approved, but just because it was also a full body harness. It had chest straps, leg loops & also a rear attachment to connect to your conventional type treestand tether. Of course the first thing I did was cut off the chest straps & leg loops, because I wanted a "tree saddle", not a tree stand fall harness. Of course saddle companies do testing of their equipment & I think even some of the TMA (treestand manufacturers association) type test, even though saddles are completely different and are not made for catching you in the event of a fall. Instead they are designed for continual load and to eliminate the possibility of a fall.

Would also like to point out that saddle hunting isn't a new concept at all. I'm pretty sure it was mid to late '80s that my dad bought his Andersen Tree Sling and pretty sure it was still in the '80s that Trophyline started making saddles, and in the late '90s Lone Wolf came out with their harness that was also paired with a platform that they made. Then for a while it seemed everyone quit making em & at that time you could sell a Trophyline saddle for over $500 on E-Bay!

I thought about ordering one a couple weeks ago and was told by Hawk they would not ship until mid-November.
