Hawk sticks available

Took the plunge and ordered heliums from Cabelas. Only hunted 2x from a converted summit seat saddle with fixed sticks last fall. Will use it or sit drag this fall and take the final plunge on a commercial saddle next year. Thanks to all on this site for the constant knowledge transfer and teaching an old dog new tricks!

Just ordered these from Cabellas yesterday and paid the minimal shipping. I like it when things work out like this

Sit on top of one another. Then have 2 little bungies to keep together

How do the hawk stick stack to each other?

For me they stack better if I stack the first two with the brackets facing one another.

Mine were delivered today. Barely 24 hours after I ordered them, I wad shocked. Wanted 4 for some occassions and now I have two backups in case they stop making them.

I do the same thing.

I’m about to buy 3 or 4 sets so I’m set for yrs to come.

Or to pull spare parts off of if needed.

Just wondering if this might be an idea

Cut the wings off a small piece of the hawk stick tube that I had
My guess is
With the wings the stick is about 2.3 Without. My guess is 1.9 pounds. An Infalt stick weight with folding steps.
I think the post would still be strong I would leave some wing around the step standoff and versa button. I am wondering about trying it

Great idea

Can one of our engineers let us know id they think the
i-beam is necessary the full length or not?

The 3.5 inch piece weighs 36 g no wings and 75 g with the wings

Or a 24 inch post would be about 514 g with wings and 246 g without wings

You plan to modify them? If so what all do you have planned for them?

I’ve gone round and round on this.

It’s easy to see the advantage of the mods but I’m almost 54 so I’m going to try the sticks as is with two one-step aiders added to the bottom two sticks.

I’m also going to camo paint the steps flat gray, brown, and tan. Most of the trees I’ll be climbing will be oaks and cottonwoods.

I still may mod them, just not sure yet...

Sounds good. As of right now I don’t plan to chop them. I also plan to paint them the same colors to blend I with the bark. I do plan to change out the straps with a lighter rope after adding a versa button and then one step aiders made of 1” webbing

That versa button/rope strap looks like a great alternative.
